Hi everybody! I came here on the usa with a k1 visa, i already have my ssn card, we got married , and i got my letter response back from the selective service system (the military) that i don t need to register at SSS because i came on the usa after 26th birthday.

Now we are starting our AOS package , it s been very stressfull journey till now, and we r taking everything one by one, we gonna start with the I 864 affidavit of support.

We have a joint sponsor , because my wife has no job ,and he qualified to be my co sponsor since embassy stages , now what do i really need from him.

1. Does my wife have to fill out the I 864 form even that she doesn t qualify over the poverty lines?

2. My joint sponsor is married , does even him even his wife have to fill out the I 864 form? (each of them one I 864 form or just him)

3. How many years of tax returns and w2 forms does the joint sponsor need to send with the I 864 form, and does he need even bank statements and pay stubs ?

Please anyone who has an idea of what i need from my joint sponsor , give me some advice here , if i m missing anything on what i listed there, please tell me ,thank u so much visa journey members for ur help, GOD BLESS.

hi

yes, the petitioner is ALWAYS the primary sponsor, she will put $0 income on her i864 and write a letter explaining why isn't she working and paying taxes

unless he needs to combine income with his wife, he can file the i864 with taxes and W2s with his sole income

he will need also proof of being a USC or LPR, if he can letter from employer if he is employed, paystubs. He doesn't need bank statements unless he is using assets

but taxes yes and paystubs as well
