Hi!

I sent in corrections for my AOS packet which arrived on July 3rd at NVC and were scanned in on July 8th.

As of Friday 09/05/2014 we have met the 60 calendar day wait period that we were notified of by email about on 08/01/2014.

I have called every day since my husband and I hit day 55 of the 60 day wait - and NVC hasn't even looked at the paperwork we submitted.

I called back on 09/05/2014 - and the NVC call rep Paola told me she put a note on my husbands case for a supervisor to review our paperwork.

Is ANYONE else in the same boat - 1. Having passed the 60 calendar days without NVC reviewing their documents/case? 2. Having gone past the 60 calendar day wait? 3. Had a note put on their case and had NVC take swift action??

Thanks - Ally & Omar

Hey,

I am currently waiting on my NVC case number. I noticed that you emailed them for it and received it that way? When your I-130 was approved did you get a letter from USCIS stating that "we have sent the original visa petition to NVC" and that you should wait for them to send a case number? Because I have waited a month now, and have not received a case number yet...

Also, are you filing from US? Did you get I-130 approved abroad and then came to US and filed for AOS? or why is your case going through NVC? I am in a similar boat and would like to know if that's possible..

I hope that your situation resolves quickly with NVC! Good luck!

Hey,

So I emailed NVC at NVCinquiry@state.gov - the email included my husbands USCIS reciept number, my name & DOB and my husbands name & DOB. I specifically asked for my husbands Case Number, Invoice Number and beneficiary id number. They replied to my email within 30 days with the information I requested.

I currently live in Morocco - and what I do is I send my packets to my mother who then sends them to the NVC for me - I also make sure to put my home address as my mother's address in the US. They have residency requirements that NVC will enforce if you put your permanent address as your address abroad. The only way its ok to do so is if you have proof of employment for the last 3 years or something like that - I don't remember all the specifics.

I have been abroad in Morocco since we started our visa process on August 18th 2013. Our I 130 was approved with me living abroad. My husbands case is a CR1 - Spousal visa and to my knowledge all visas at some point go through NVC.

As for them finally reviewing our paperwork we sent in - 72 days from our scan date of July 8th they finally reviewed it and sent us another checklist.

Hi Helena,

Yes I totally understand. KEEP calling however - ALWAYS speak with a supervisor. Ask them to put a request for your case to be reviewed in the system. Make sure to ask what the time is for the paperwork to be reviewed after the request is put into the system.

Since your abroad in Poland - I am guessing - download a free VPN from cnet.com - and get a Google Voice account. Launch the VPN - then using Google Voice call the NVC for FREE from Poland - yes its a pain in the butt to be on hold for 30 minutes or more each time - if possible call when NVC opens at 7am in the morning to ensure less of a wait time.

Good LUCK!

Yeah, today is the 61 day of this whole mess. We have the expedite request approved and the embassy waiting for the NVC to send them the AOS and IV packets which is apparently an impossibly difficult thing to do, judging by the amount of time it took them to go to the mail room to pick those up. They did that a week ago and they are still "preparing to send" them. Whatever the hell that means. Moreover they can't give an estimate on when they'll do it. The embassy has submitted two requests for this already, we even have the congressman's office involved and trying to help us. But no, the NVC mail room is probably some sort of a crazy dungeon guarded by a huge dragon or something. That's the only explanation I can think of. Awful, just awful organization. On a separate note, does anyone know how to file a complaint about this? I'd gladly do so.

How do you know that your documents got scanned in the system?? I guess they dont notify that...

Actually i mailed my AOS docs on 5th aug, but my IV bill was generated very late on 10th sept, so i submitted my IV package on 15th sept and they received on 18th sept...my AOS package already took more than 45 days but just few days for my IV package, so my 60 days will be separate for both the task???

If so, then it is going to take soo long... :(

Well we got the expedite approved - Yippie! on 9/16

Took NVC until 9/18 to send out the case via DHL to the Casablanca Consulate

Case arrived at the Casablanca Consulate 9/22

and today my husband go the call from a consulate officer - and they gave him his interview date over the phone! 10/10

I tried to call the Casablanca consulate to follow up - as in get a paper copy of the interview letter - a list of any documents that my husband needs to bring to his interview and it was a PIA - a freaking nightmare to just get to the immigration department and speak to a HUMAN!

Then my phone cut out because I used all my minutes - calling, recalling, getting routed to unset up voicemail boxes, calls dropped etc.

SMH.

I will call try to call tomorrow using Google Voice - to see if I can save $

I received my letter from the NVC informing me of the additional 60 days on September 7th, application was scanned on September 5th. What I am wondering is whether the 60 days refer to 60 calendar days or 60 business days? I suspect the latter, but have a little bit of hope that it might be the former.

okay, i've checked a ton of forums and i believe that the 60 days refers to 60 calendar days and not 60 business days, which is GREAT news. November 7th could not come sooner! and will make it just about one year since I started the petition for my wife.
