I find it amusing that the poster who argues that it is the incomprehensibility of certain minority groups that is holding them back from advancement in the workplace is more often than not completely incomprehensible himself in terms of sentence and paragraph structure.

He's ex military. They don't care about that kind of stuff.

That's true for more than one of them.

You said Turbo.

Thanks for the clip, reminds me that I still need to donate my parachute pants to Goodwill. I still think that Ozone should not have held Kelly back from going to Paris, even when an awesome hospital dance scene was pending,,

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

While I don't always agree with Janelle, this chart seems back up part of what she is saying. ( I could be wrong, of course, because I'm just not very smart )

Look at college graduates - there is a higher unemployment rate for the Blacks than all other groups.

Look at the Blacks with an Associates Degree - Every Asian group has a lower unemployment rate. In fact, for every other ethnicity, just having some college is better than being Black with an Associates.

Things do improve for the Blacks with education - but they still seem to be behind all other ethnic groups.

I have you to know, I almost had a heart attack. And, I was straightening my hair. You almost made me burn myself.

I believe, everyone can be as smart as they want to be.

Correct English structure during a job interview would be a help.

Nothing you said explains why EDUCATED blacks graduating from college has have the highest unemployment

And you are ..... who? A faculty member on a committee judging me on my thesis dissertation?

People post incorrect English on VJ all day long. Now what? Posting on a forum and an interview are completely separate.

It's the pot/kettle syndrome... I thought I was the only one who noticed it...

Watching it now, it was over the top and hammy, but it has that special place in my heart, you know?

If I remember correctly, Turbo being in the hospital was the reason she didn't get on the plane. Ozone did the whole guilt trip on her, but she was still going to go.

Fun fact; Jean Claude Van Damme was a dancer in this movie. :dancing:

Edit: Not this one, the first Breakin. I stand corrected. Also it's been over 20 years and they still haven't made a movie to match this one.

That is true for most of them, which makes sense, for prejudice and hatred unawareness, oftentimes walk in hand in hand.

Fixed for you. You can become aware by having a simple conversation, or an observation of something that goes against your bigotry. They're not trying to learn anything that isn't central to their hate.

True, but IMHO, hatred is just another irrational expression of fear of that which is unknown. Through dialogue and education, hatred, as any other phobias, can be eradicated, or at least be kept at bay by an educated mind. IMHO education is the most efficient vaccine for poverty and hatred. I oftentimes remark that grammar and spelling of a few here share a common trait. If English were my first language, I'd say in terms of education I find them wanting.

That's what I don't get. We've had a metric ton of dialogue here that could educate people who are willing to learn. But some are just determined to have this conversation without the benefit of learning anything.

What I don't get is how you figured out what that paragraph of nonsense was all about? You must have the secret decoder ring. Please share.

My take is that some people enjoy their ailment and find pleasure in their unawareness. They are afraid to think outside the box and face reality. That is why we keep seeing the most outlandish posts and excuses when it comes to racial issues.

Sorry. To get in the club, you have to listen to the message and decode it for yourself.

It's sad that said people will never understand what they are truly missing out of on.
