We have gone and past NVC and have our interview date already . Someone I know got a request at the Manila embassy for another DS-260 to be done to add a child born after the first DS-260 was completed . We have the same situation and would like to get this done before the day of the interview to avoid any hold ups . I have signed on to the NVC site and can only view not edit our DS-260 .

its no big deal, just update it at the interview. You can't access the DS260 after you submit it.

You should be able to add the child at the day of the interview, assuming the child has all the necessary docs. It happens plenty of times, when a child is born after the NVC process and even after a visa has been issued.

You should contact the embassy to see what their particular process is because it can vary. If the child will require a medical, I'm not sure if it can be done if the child hasn't been added to the case, which is why you should find out if you can submit the paper version of the DS260 before the interview.

Worst case scenario, the child won't be issued a visa until you have all of their docs/medical/fees done. It shouldn't affect your visa being issued however.

This does not constitute legal advice.

We will have the documents for the child , but should not be needed . We are doing a CRBA before or after the interview depending what date Manila gives us . I am mailing that in this week and going to request a date in Oct around the time my wife will be there for medical and interview . All this traveling back and forth is costly !

Ok. I assumed you were an LPR since you were inquiring about adding another DS260, I assumed you were talking about getting one for the child. I see that you meant updating your spouse's DS260, about the new child.

This is not necessary. The DS260 is valid with the info as of the date it was submitted. Meaning that if the child wasn't born when the DS260 was submitted, anything that happened after that date, like a new child being born, would be informed to the CO at the interview.

Since the child is a USC, all the child needs is his CRBA and US passport. This can be done before or after the interview since it has no effect on your spouse's visa process.
