New here. (Hello!)

Reading through the forum today, I've just come across this CFO thing. Is it still required? If not, what's the benefit of doing it?

Does the CFO affect the tax (1620P) paid at the airport on departure?

We are a Filipino Husband, American Wife. We married in Philippines and moved to Singapore. No one mentioned the CFO when we departed for Singapore. (They did request a copy of our marriage certificate and his Singapore dependent pass when he left Cebu.)

Thanks in advance,

~Danielle

You are currently in Singapore, then heading to the USA from there? Don't need CFO, that is a Philippines government requirement, only need it to exit the Philippines... which wasn't your care at all ;)

It is possible if you return to the Philippines then exit to fly to the USA from there you would be required to have the CFO sticker in your passport, but if you fly to the USA without returning to the Phils... forget about it.

Thanks for the reply. We'll be visiting Philippines several times during our stay in Singapore (2 years)... I'm wondering if it was a fluke that they didn't ask for it, and they'll be asking for it later??

There was one other couple on here in the past year or two who worked in either HK or Singapore and were also doing the visa process. In this case a Filipina, and she traveled out of the Phils without the CFO sticker no issue.

Question. You say the next two year in Singapore, does your husband already have his green card? If yes... then CFO is totally not an issue.

We haven't begun the i-130/immigration process. We're both working in Singapore, and planning to begin the immigration process in the next 12-18 months.

Ahhhhhh! CFO is a non-issue for now. If you do the processing in Singapore then fly to the USA, forget about CFO. If you do the processing in the Philippines then yes you will need to complete CFO.

As for your question regarding CFO and the P1620 exit fee... no
