Hi!

If you intend to leave the country more then once while waiting for your green card will there be problems? There is an option:For how many trips do you intend to use this document? One trip or more then one trip?

I can only give them dates for one trip and thats not confirmed, how does it work? Do I get one document to show every time I travel while waiting for GC? Is it hard to get approved?

Any info would be helpful... thanks!

You put that you want the AP for "multiple entries". Once you receive your AP documents, they can be used for as many trips as you wish.

The first time you use it, they will stamp it, and then you simply show the document every time you re-enter the U.S.

It is not difficult to obtain. The hardest part is the waiting for it to be approved.

That's great!! So you don't need to put down all your intended travel plans on the I-131? They ask for date and estimated lenght of stay...

Thanks for your help!!

Hi Raymaga,

On part 7 of AP I-131, what did you write on your form and what documents do you include for this?

"On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrantissuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish considered."

Thanks for your help!

Kevin

In our case, I just put on a seperate sheet of paper that we were intending to get married (again :)) in my home country, so that we could have a ceremony and reception for all my family and friends that couldn't attend our US wedding. We didn't have specific dates or flights booked (due to us being unsure about the AOS process), so I just said during the Summer of 2006. In addition, my job sometimes requires international travel, so I also listed that as a reason, but didn't have any definite trips planned.

I got my AP with no issues, but by the time I recieved it we were getting ready for the interview etc, and didn't want to have the extra stress of planning the ceremony abroad, so we didn't actually take the trip until after I got my GC.

I regard the AP a bit like an EAD, you may not need it if all goes smoothly with your GC, but if it doesn't go as quickly as you might hope, then the AP could be a lifesaver.

Hope this helps!
