I'm having a hard time finding a K1 specific answer to this via search. I'm wondering if the beneficiary of an application gets a new passport between NOA2 and the interview (in order to have over 8 months left on it at the time of entry) if that's going to mess up the application at all. So long as she can keep her old one and the existing passport stamps, just in case we need them for relationship evidence, it shouldn't be a problem, right? Has anyone else renewed their passport mid-process? Just looking for some reassurance. Thanks!

First i honestly do not know have a direct answer to you question. But.....

Some countries let the passport holder keep the old one and issue a new with a new number like the Philipines. and some require that you surrender the old one innorder to get a new one and then issue a new passport book with old number like the U.S does.

What i would do is find a good color copier and make three or four original copies (meaning a direct copy and not making one copy and then makijg copies of the first copy) of the entire passport, cover to cover. A good eye can the the difference between an original copy and a copy of a copy.

Then i would have my fiancee request a passport and use the expidited service keeping all receipts showing what you did. Then when you go for the interview bring a set of everything for yourself and a set for the consulate.

If your fiancees country allows them to keep the old passpprt all the better.

But if they do not them to keep the old one, by copying everything it shows thay you requested a new one because the old one would expire and would meet their requirements. It also provides you with the back up material you need as an on going relationship.

This is all i can think of to help, maybe someone else will habe a better idea

Agree with the previous posting about making a good quality color copy of all of the pages of your old passport, if you can keep it. A review of your timeline indicates that you are from the UK, not sure of British passport policy with regards to old passport retention. Perhaps an informed, and/or experienced English forum member could enlighten us on this topic?

Good luck on your immigration journey.

No issue with a different (new) passport at a London interview. Lots have done the same.

You won't need to show entries or any other relationship evidence at your interview.

Your old passport will be returned.

Hello! Just a quick one. I need to apply for a new passport but my birth certificate won't arrive for another week or two. Just wondering if the London PO's "3 weeks" is an accurate time frame for getting the new passport in hand? Anyone applied for a passport in London recently?
