Hello all, my wife must go to CFO this week here in Manila. My dilema is this: CFO website is very confusing. You either have to attend pre departure seminar no appointment needed 70 people accepted per day. here is a link to what I'm reading http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1347:for-filipinos-leaving-the-country-with-an-immigrant-visa&catid=139:pre-departure-orientation-seminar&Itemid=917

this makes sense to me. or you do this other one called CGP which makes absolutley no sense because they ask you to bring orig NSO docs w u. We cannot they are in the visa packet which you cannot open. The questions to determine if you need to attend GCP make no sense either. Btw my wife has her CR1 visa so she is an immigrant visa. hope this makes sense.

I am a CR-1 too. My wife had to attend the CFO class in-order to get her new passport with her married name on it. We provided a copy of our marriage contract and a copy of my passport. We scheduled an appointment online for the class and my wife attended it.When she finished they gave her a certificate, but if your wife has her visa already they will stamp her passport after the class and she will be good to go.

Your wife can obtain copies of her NSO documents in a few days if she goes directly to the NSO. We have multiple copies of all of our documents from the NSO. She can then use the new ones at her appointment. If you are divorced you need to send your wife a copy of your divorce decree. Also make sure your wife knows everything about you in detail. They will conduct an in-depth interview with he after the class.

I hope this helps!

little additon to my orig post 2 questions asked of spouse to determine if you need to attend GCP (guidence and counseling prog) Is your spouse a foreign national. No I'm a USC,She is a Phil citizen. @nd question is your spouse a former Philippine citizen again NO. then says if not to both you do not attend GCP.

The CFO is run by The Philippine government and you are her spouse so you are a foreign national because you are a USC. So you do need the sticker trust me they wont let her leave The Philippines without first attending the CFO class.

Spouses of foreign nationals attend the guidance counseling class - PDOS combo

Family-based emigrants (parents, siblings, children, etc) attend the PDOS

Teenage minors attend peer counseling

You don't have to open the visa packet for the originals of documents, you can order new ones.

Go to the page for spouses marrying foreign, or spouses and fiancees, not sure if you are attending CFO for passport requirements for DFA or doing exit seminar.

DO NOT open the yellow envelope. You can request new certified copies of your birth certificate and CENOMAR. You should have a few extra of your BC when you relocate to the US anyway.

CFO is for the Phil national. The USC sponsor not only does not have to do it; he can't even get inside the building. You can drop her off and wait for her outside.
