Question about K-1 petition status after leaving NVC

My petition left NVC on Aug/29/2014 and the status was changed to “Ready” on DOS’s website on Sep/02/2014. Today (Sep/05/2014), the status was changed to “Administrative Processing”. Is this normal? Shouldn’t my fiancée receive Packet 3 when the status is “ready”? Also, my NVC Case # was changed from “GUZ##########” to “GUZ########## 01 GUZ” today. Is this normal too?

Mine also changed like that to processing and then days later it went back to ready again. My case number also changed to 01 for my wife and they added an 02 for my daughter, so under the same case number two were created. If your fiance does not have a child and is only your fiance that is probably why it change to 01. Maybe someone else in your region can give you a better inside of why it changed. By the way, we were approved at the interview and my case number now also changed after the interview from ready to administrative processing, I am guessing they are preparing the visa stamp and when it is shipped out it will change again to visa issued.

I do not know the particulars of this process, because we are still in the beginning of it. But, i work for a different USG Agency and It is normal for a USG Agency to add 01, 02 or 001, 002 to something. In goverment contracting on contracts it means a modification to the original contract. So with the information you present and with what the first response was. I would surmize that it means the primary case is the original number. The 01 relates to the primary beneficary, the 02 relates to the first dependant listed on the application form and so on.

I wasn't checking the GUZ number closely to see if "01" was appended at the end,

but for the status, it will stay at "Admin Processing" for a while, and then change to "Issued"

within few days of passing the interview.

I think your fiancee should receive packet 3 (it's express mail package),

within 1 to 2 weeks now.
