it says refused :(

I'm so sorry to hear that.:( Not so sure how the US embassy in Canada handles visa refusals or if they are going to give you any notice, so hopefully anybody from Canada can chime in.

I am so sorry to hear that. Can you please give details about the interview (questions asked) or your fiance (reasons why they would want to verify twice his liquid assets) or your relationship (why do you think it was necessary to request more evidence)? Canada is a low-fraud country, so it would help if you give us insight into your case so that some people can understand or help.

Sorry for how the ridiculous system treated you by the way.

It's normal for it to show refused -- your were, in fact given a refusal on the day or your interview (under Section 221g of the Immigration and Nationality Act -- the refusal code for when more information/documentation/administrative processing is needed. Doesn't mean that, after they review what you submitted that the visa will not be issued. Hang in there.

Was your interview in Montreal or Vancouver? And what kind of relationship evidence did you provide?

I'm hoping that's what is going on considering I didn't receive any correspondence through email or physical mail. But I will keep you up to date when I find out anything new. Thank you

We also got a refusal because we didn't get our medical packet back in time so we had to have it delivered by courier. Although visa status still says refused, the consulate emailed saying it's in administrative processing. AP can take up to 60 days but it doesn't typically take that long. You need to email the embassy with your case number in the subject line and ask them for an update.

My interview was at the Montreal us consulate. We provided photos of us together with personal emails and phone records, oh and parking tickets for his car in my area.

Hang in there gal, I just think all is going to be ok,.,..,once they get the new paperwork.,.,.,.,..keep us up-dated.,.,.,.

I wish everything was ok. It's so not ok :( I emailed the consulate and they said over I'm denied. The reason for the denial is ridiculous. Accusing me of a crime I didn't commit and this whole process has been one thing after another. It's making me not even want to be alive. I don't want to imagine my life without my fiancé. I have been crying all day since I got the email... It just looks like they are looking for anything, real or fake to deny me and ruin our lives. I don't know if I'll be around tomorrow. It was nice talking to you all.

Rachel, this is crazy talk!!! I'm not saying you're crazy, just what you're saying. I can feel for your situation, as we were denied last year and have had to wait another year. Initially I felt like another year was going to feel like forever but now we are past the interview and awaiting the AP process.

Get your bearings together and try and see what you can do tomorrow to fix the situation. The love you two have for each other should get you through this. I wish I could help you in some way. Can you fix whatever crime they are accusing you of, then go to Canada and marry your guy and start a spousal visa?

I wish it was that simple, but it's not unfortunately. What they are saying will always make me ineligible to move to the US ever. Married or not married. We are going to try a waver but i feel like it's just another dead end. This whole process is just making me so depressed. I don't even like getting up in the morning and I'm barely visited by my fiance because it's hard for him to get that amount of time off work.

Unfortunately, it is true that marriage does not grant immediate citizenship. It is also true that a waiver could be a dead end and right now the initial shock of the refusal has you down in the dumps and hard to be positive but put your big girl panties on and try. As I said in my previous post, the love you have for each other should outshine any refusal.

Believe me, I know first hand how hard it is to be away from the one you love. It can almost be unbearable at times. Why does your fiance need to take time off work for you to go for a visit? I've gone to see my fiance several times when he has to leave for work everyday. In fact, if you had got your visa and went to live with him, he would still have to work.

I do hope you're feeling a little better today. Keep your chin up
