For the record, this would not answer your questions.

I didn't get it, do you need a new SSN ? or do you just need to renew it?

I thought SSN was only sent out for once in your lifetime, you could renew the card, but the number would be remain the same, am i right?

I checked the SSN website, Replacement Card for a Noncitizen Adult (http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/ss5doc.htm).

It requires documents for 3 purpose: Immigration Status, Work Eligibility and Identity.

All you need to do is bright EAD, Passport. It says on the website that they might use the same document for 2 purposes. You brought more than that to prove your eligibility for SSN card replacement.

Well, I guess just happens, and you did nothing wrong. I would just think not everyone there knows exactly the rules are right this moment.

I would go to the SSN office again, and just try it out again with different officer , if i were you.
