Hi! My name is Natalie and I am NOT Russian. I am an American living in Ukraine and am dating a guy from Russia. We are talking about getting married and trying to figure out everything (where to live, where to get married, which visa process we want to do, etc.)

Just wonderin if there are any others out there in my situation. I know that there are many American men/Russian women marriages, but what about American women with Russian men?

Is anyone out there? I would love to talk with you about your experiences!

Thanks

There was a woman (American) on here a while back that was living in Vladivostok with her husband (Russian) and going through the VJ process; also searching out ways to file, where to file, how to do it... and looking for another woman!

She didn't get much help with the woman part, and as of late, there are about 100% AM/RWs on here. We can help you with the general "Russia" (including Ukraine) questions, but as far as looking at it with the "female perspective"..... I don't know what to tell you. I'll try, but I've been accused more than once on here of being a "typical (or atypical) American guy."

Her profile name is Laurak if that helps. She hasn't been on here for quite a while, but she may still be reading. If you search the members section you can find her profile and send her a message. Matter of fact, I'm going to send her one too. Where has she been?

Good luck on your Visa Journey!

Hi Natalie,

Kharkov? Gee ... that brings back memories of Easter 2005 when I was there.

Well, that's another story for off-line.

To your question: last May or there about, there was a Boris whom I corresponded with on VJ.

He was very helpful. He'd just gotten his visa in Moscow.

If you go a VJ page where there are Immigration Timelines, go into the one for K-1, limit the search to Russia, then sort by time.

You'll find I believe his info around May 2006 plus/minus some weeks or months.

Maybe there's a better way to sort/search.

All the best!

PS yep, I did that and found him; hope he responds to you if you send something.

Thanks Slim ! I'll try to find that woman in Vladivostok. By the way, where is your wife from in Far East Russia? My boyfriend is from Yakustk in Northeastern Siberia.
