HI all,

I am the foreign fiance living in the UK, I have my Interview in a few weeks.

Now assuming after my interview goes well I will be given a certain amount of time to move to the US (can anyone clarify this) and then I have 90 days upon arrival to marry my fiance in the US. Now, I would like to change my first name. Is this possible during the Adjustment of Status or does it have to be done afterwards. Also during this AOS process, where do you describe your ethnic background ?

Thank you for any help in advance.

You file your AOS in the name you want after marriage. Different states have different ways of establishing your new name after marriage, but this doesn't change how you do it with USCIS.

Your ethnicity doesn't matter with your AOS. I'm not sure why you're even bringing it up. The USA is full of people from many different ethnic backgrounds.

I am just asking if this is a question that in this process, I am not asking whether it matters or not... Clearly the USA is full of those people, if it did'nt matter then I'm sure people would not have it on their driving licence. Thanks for your first part of the answer, it was very helpful.

There's a state that puts ethnicity on the drivers license? Wow, never heard of that before, I find it rather shocking actually. They do not put ethnicity on the drivers license where I live.

You need to check with the laws of the state in which you will marry. They may not allow you to change your first name through marriage. That may require a court ordered name change. Most only allow last name changes, some middle names. Most likely the first name won't be able to legally change simply through the process of marriage.
