UGH that is so irritating. Are they requiring a joint sponsor now, or would an employment letter/paystub situation fix things?

Just finished my biometrics appointment as scheduled. I took in my marriage certificate to show I will be going by my married name. They didn't need it. My advice for people doing the same should take it just in case. You wait behind a line and are called in groups after being checked in. You fill out a form half a page long take it back to the desk. You then get your id, forms, and hands checked. They then give you a number. You are called and get your prints and picture taken. It takes a whole 10 minutes. Bring your form, identification, and marriage certificate just in case. Do not bring anything else in the office with you.

I went to the Atlanta office. I am very pleased that this part is now complete.

Thanks. You should be hearing about ur ead soon. Sometimes they take a little longer for the fbi background to come back due to common names etc. I hear this entire process takes about 3 montha. You may get ur green card before u ead. Let me know if u get a interview? Good luck

Thanks and I will let you all know for sure :) I hope there isnt a criminal around with my same name slowing my process haha

They really are nice in that office!! They didn't need to look at my marriage certificate either and my passport name and letter name didn't match since I took my husband's, I guess they are used.

Did they check your hands at the desk to see if there were cuts or something weird?? The security guy hoolded my hands and looked between fingers etc when I handed him the forms, I was so confused I first thought he wanted to see my rings haha he laughed and said he was looking for cuts because I made I weird face expression, and my husband was like seriously? You think he cares about your ring....hahaha

They just asked to see my hands front and back. He didn't check in between each finger. Lol! That would be odd. It's okay though. So happy this part is complete! :)

I am a software engineer and software positions in New York City have huge salaries so I better start working soon and then I will be more than able to support myself instead of having to ask everyone to sign the affidavit of support for me.
