All Filipina married to Foreign Nationals need to get CFO certificate before they can apply/renew their passport. If you are from Luzon u can go to their office in Manila but if u are from visayas or Mindanao u can get it done in Cebu. It is only one day deal you have to be there early enough to get a slot since it's limited.

HELP WHAT TO DO ... I JUST KNEW THAT I HAVE TO GET A CFO TO APPLY FOR A PASSPORT ... ANYONE WHO EXPERIENCED GETTING A CFO ?

i got mine last april. i didnt know i need to get a CFO. i thought everything is ready, i set my passport appointment at DFA SM Manila (april 25th). i prepared all the documents i need- a NSO copy of my birth certificate and our marriage certificate, also my PRC ID.

the day before my passport appointment (april 24th) i just went to SM manila just to see the DFA office. when i read i needed a CFO. i didnt know what is it so i check the internet. then it says CFO is needed to those who are spouses of foreign national. i thought i wont be able to go to my passport appointment the next day.

but still tried. i went there the next day. (citigold center quirino ave.) i got there at 4:15 am and waited patiently. the guard let us in at 6:30 am. i got my CFO at 12:45pm. i was told to go back when i got my passport and visa.

so i rushed to go to SM manila (begging the taxi driver to drive as fast as he could...but huh he couldnt do anything cus of the traffic...cus i have my appointment at 1pm). i got there at 1:25pm and talk to the guard to let me in, he said no problem. at 4:30pm i got my passport.

after that i prayed to Jehovah God for helping me in getting the CFO and passport. and then i treat myself for a loooooooooooooong day :)

U didnt set an appointment on cfo?

If you are going to go to CFO in Manila, you need to schedule an appointment online. Here is the link: http://gcp-appointment.cfo.gov.ph/

If you are going to CFO in Cebu, it is walk in only and you need to come early to get a spot.

U didnt set an appointment on cfo?

In april...were not required to make an appointment yet. It was just in june when they required applicants to make an appointment Edited by anikkandtim

To the OP: I had mine in January. It was a first come, first serve basis back then. Book an appointment first. You will have to attend the counseling and then they will issue you a certificate. You will use that CFO certificate as a requirement to get a passport.

Btw VJers, after we get our visa, Im still at NVC now... do we need to book an appointment for the sticker?
