Hello from an American girl in Ukraine

Hi! I just want to introduce myself... My name is Natalie and I am an American missionary living in Kharkov Ukraine. I have been dating my boyfriend, Sergei, for about 5 months and we have begun those initial conversations about marriage. We have a lot of unusual circumstances in that neither of us are from Ukraine - he is Russian and we don't plan to live permanently in the States.

Here is what we would like to do: I would like for us to go to the States so that he could meet my family, get married there and then return to Ukraine/Russia to live long term, visiting the States once a year or so.

So, what process should I apply for? K-1... Does he have to apply for a Green Card right after the wedding in that process... could we return to Ukraine after the wedding and do the Green Card process later or would that mean starting all over with a K-3 process?

Thanks for any help!!

Welcome to VJ. Maybe you should consider a vistor visa. If he has a good job and can show strong ties to his homeland he should be able to quailfy for a visitor visa.
