So I sent in my RFE on August 1, 2014. However I have not seen my case status updated despite the center receiving the documentation. Is that normal? Its been over a month now, and I'm quite worried! Please do advice if anyone has had any similar experiences.

Can anyone provide any feedback? It appears that its customary to get an RFE received letter from the Service Center.

Hello! My husband and I got an RFE at the USCIS stage which was now a year and a half ago, but we did receive an email confirming they recieved our response and to wait 30 days for processing. It also updated on our online status. But, that online status system for USCIS can be really crappy. So don't always rely on that.

Definitely give USCIS a call and if a tier 1 rep can't help you, ask to speak to a tier 2. Although, if it's anything like it used to be, you could wait 4 hours on hold to speak to a tier 2. I hope you can find out easily.

Thanks Elizabeth, its been over 30 days since my attorney sent in my RFE, but we have still not seen a status update. I will attempt calling USCIS tomorrow and see if they can give me a better answer. Havent had much luck with those guys as of yet.

I would definitely recommend just asking to speak to a tier 2 rep right off the bat. The reps who answer the phone can't see enough about your case usually to be able to answer specific questions.

Pennboy1989 -

did you already call and speak to a Tier 2 officer?

I mailed my RFE response package on 9/4 via certified mail. I tracked the package and saw they received it on 9/8 (only 4 days later). Then i received an email and text alert from them at 12 am 9/9 saying they received it and will respond to me within 60 days (sucks to wait that long, i hope it will be approved asap).

After calling them, i would recommend signing up for email and/or text alerts. I don't have a lawyer, but it would seem that he/she should be on top of it and checking the status too.

I really hope you find some answers soon and get your approval. Good luck bro.

Sofi would you mind telling me what address you sent the RFE to. I am contemplating mailing the document again, I have a bad feeling they never received the document, or it got lost in the mail

Thanks Sofi, I got approved today. 226 days following my priority date!

Congrats!!! Now on to the NVC. Hopefully they will start speeding up since you have already waited this long for the i-130. Best of luck :)
