I went to the social security office on Monday to apply for my SSN but the lady told me that my info hasn't been updated into the SSA database yet.

EAD approved....10/17/14

EAD received......10/24/14

Attempt Applying for SSN...10/27/14 but info not updated yet.

I read on other post that you should wait atleast 10-11days after getting your EAD before applying for SSN. might try again on fri.

That's a liltle tip for all September fillers...

Awwww don't mention Christmas haha. My first thought about filling in September was: ok in one month you have the EAD, learn to drive find a whatever job to be able to buy Christmas presents for everybody then find a better job.

I don't think my plan is going to happen after knowing how the Atlanta office is working.. I feel it's going to be a long journey :(

As I always said I don't care about the green card how long they take but come on just EAD let me drive and work!

Got my biometrics done today. It was not as what as i expected it to be. I waited for 2 hours because they did not start on time my appointment was 8:00 and they started around 8:30 for whatever reason. Me and my son applied for AOS, EAD and AP but my son's EAD got rejected because i failed to sign the form. Called USCIS today because i already did my BIometrics and I havent heard any feedback with regards to my son's EAD application. The guy told me since he is just 4 years old he doesnt need to have the EAD. I was seeing a lot of parents here who are applying for EAD for minors to get SSN so i did the same thing. The guy told me that I can apply for Individual Identification taxpayer number at IRS and he is good to go. That is where we needed it anyways, he needs to have SSN for tax declaration purposes. The SSN that he will have is not allowed to use if he is planning to work.
