That sucks! :( Maybe someone in your wife's family or a friend? I felt so bad to have to ask someone... Hope you find one soon! Good luck!!

Yeah it sucks :/ By the way our RFE has two points in it

1) Submit all supporting tax documentation(W-2s, 1099s bla bla bla submitted to the IRS for the most recent tax year.

2) Based on the documents submitted with Form I-864 for the petitioner/sponsor, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline.

Will a joint sponsor be sufficient? Or are they also looking for tax returns from my wife?

My wife just started working in september so she has not completed any tax returns for the past 5 years :S

That is exactly what ours said...I sent in my tax transcipt, so they want the W-2's as well? Anything else? And I currently DO make over the 125% but according to my last tax year that is not the case. What I don't understand is why they tell you if your CURRENT income meets the standards, and you have proof like an employee letter, pay stubs and statements, to send it in if they are only going to refuse it! It's all so stupid!

Yes I have the exact same RFE. A joint sponsor is sufficient. We don't even have the most recent tax return to submit because my husband wasn't required to file (He just started working in May)! So I'm going to send again the statement explaining why he didn't file and submit some proofs showing that he was going to school before. I think you should do the same. I did some research on VJ and a lot of people have done that with no problem (as long as they had a joint sponsor).

I think that they look at the most recent tax return and if they see that it's under the poverty guideline, they send you a RFE. Stupid!! They don't even look at your current situation!!

He made it seem like they don't accept walk-ins. He said: "What would happen if everybody would come in whenever they want? That's why you have an appointment letter!" But then there were 2 successful early walk ins at this office in Chula Vista. So I'm rly hoping to get another person tomorrow that'll let me in.

There didn't seem to be too many people. There were 3 (seemed separate) waiting areas in the Suite for the fingerprints though. Not sure what each one was for.

Maybe he wasn't in a good mood lol! If some people have had successful early walk-ins before, you should definitely try again. Hopefully it's not the same person tomorrow!! Good luck ;)

Just received hard copy interview notice!!! Great day!

Congrats!

Does your i485 case status online show the interview date or simple showing "Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview." ?

Thanks for your reply!

I also had a question if anyone knows the answer...when your case is on hold for and RFE for AOS, does that put your EAD and AP on hold as well? Because on the website, both the EAD and AP are both in Initial Review, while AOS is on RFE...

I had an RFE too and yes they put everything on hold. Because mine is delayed now.
