Never thought it would of been so long after the the biometrics that I still haven't seen any update on my case on the USCIS. Any September filer got their EAD card or AOS appointment letter? Or on the USCIS website their EAD is on decision or card production?

When were your biometrics? A couple September filers got their EAD/AP approved I think. But none got AOS appointment letter yet. The process of EAD/AP takes 2 to 3 months in average so we just have to keep being patient! :clock:

My EAD was supposed to be delivered on 11th Oct but something went wrong and now tracking shows status as "Forwarded" i dont know what it means... could it be wrong address wrong zip code or what??? any ideas how to handle this?

I'm sorry! That sucks. Have you tried to get in touch with USPS?

You know what the actual thing that sucks is that i had been waiting whole day and then at 5:30pm they updated the status of the delivery that you mail was scanned at 9:01am and was forwarded to a different location and by the time when they updated the status of the mail online it was already too late for me to contact USPS. and today its Coloumbus days so its off... :ranting:

My assumption "I moved to a new address and changed my address using online tool at the USCIS website and got email notification for that as well... so now i think that USCIS might have sent my package to my previous address  " at the same time a did a change of address at the local post office too which has been effective since the next business day so by this forwarded status i am assuming they USPS might forward it to my new address fingers crossed till tomorrow....

Oh yes it's Colombus day that's right, really sucks!!! Yes it's probably why it says "forwarded". You should try to get in touch with USPS in the morning though to try to get more info about that. Hopefully you'll get it tomorrow ;) Good luck!!!

Start communicating with your post office and USPS customer service immediately and report the issue to see if you can get clarification on where it is and whats happening, before it turns up " missing " like mine apparently has.. hoping to hear some good news from you soon

I still haven't gotten any good news as far as locating mine.. been getting the run around from the post office but im not gonna stop showing up there until I get a definite answer, they claim my carrier from that day was out and she should be back today so I'm heading back over there today. I also got consumer affairs involved and i'm hoping to hear from them soon as well ..I dont know if you'll have any luck with USCIS but that was a dead end for me, they refuse to take any responsibility for the card after its been sent out so they wont even send a new one and all they can tell me to do is file a new one and pay the fee of $380 which i don't intend to do at all.

Ok guys, so i had my immigration medical exam done last week (yes I did not send it with the AOS package) and I was wondering if I should send it to USCIS right away or just wait for an RFE? I saw a number of posts on VJ contradicting each other with some people saying it's safer to wait for an RFE to minimize the chance of USCIS misplacing your medical exam while others say you should send it as soon as possible to avoid any delays to the green card processing. I send my package without the medical so that USCIS would start processing my EAD as soon as possible since the EAD does not depend on the medical exam :P

Before you freak out, it does say on the USCIS website for the medical exam form that if you are an AOS applicant you can either send it with your application package, send it later to USCIS or take it with you at your interview.

I quote from the web:

If you are applying for adjustment of status, you may submit Form I-693 in one of the following ways:

  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, together with your Form I-485, Application to Register for Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to the location specified for your Form I-485 (see “Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485”).
  • Submit Form I-693 by mail, after filing your Form I-485, to the location specified in your most recent communication with USCIS (for example, a Request for Evidence letter from USCIS).
  • Submit Form I-693 in person, at an interview in a USCIS field office (if an interview is required).

Mother of god :o We are moving into a new appartment in 2 weeks too so knowing what happened to you I will just NOT change my address with USCIS or USPS. Our old address will be my wife's parents' house so I can still get the letters from them when USCIS sends anything and from the sound of it it will be much safer too :X I would really rather my letters going to my wife's parents rather than having my EAD or Green Card lost in the mail :S

Hope you get your EAD soon :/

Oh no!!!

I have a friend who changed address a couple times and she always changes it online then calls uscis to verify because I think it's very usual thing for uscis website....... To not work properly, and changing usps address smart :) I would have never thought about doing that! ( not sure if it's something normal to do , not where I'm from so good information )

I hope you get it today or soon this week :) let us know! Worst scenario is uscis sending the envelope to you again???

Thanks for the heads up with the change of address tool, I was just about to go update with my new address..I understand your frustration so well and i really hope it gets back to you soon, we spend so much money and go through so much stress just to turn around and have USPS & USCIS be so careless with the most important parts of the process smh

I filed AOS for me and my son and got 5 NOAs in the mail wherein it should be 6 (2 each for aos,ead and ap). I got a rejection notice for my son's ead because i failed to sign the signature box (i signed at the preparer's signature box which is invalid when an applicant is 14 years old and younger). It said in the mail that i failed to signed the form and the fee is incorrect ... isn't ead is free when you apply it altogether with your aos?

kinda confuse about this. I sent the signed form today and attached my NOA for my AOS and my son's AOS (where they can see that we paid for the aos fee)

i hope to hear from them soon

If I were you, I would wait to get an RFE. But that's just my opinion. You already have everything ready so as soon as you get the RFE, you can send the response the next day! It won't delay the AOS processing really.

Okay guys this is what has happened to my EAD package that was shipped by USCIS:

I changed my address with USCIS using the online change of address tool "DO NOT DO THIS. IT DOESN'T WORK AS IT DIDN'T WORK IN MY CASE" i spoke to USCIS and they said the address was still the old address whereas i changed it using the online change of address tool which didn't work :ranting::ranting: so i have changed my address with the USPS as well so i hope they will forward it my new address depending on their work policy. I went to the USPS post office and they said it was here on Sat OCT 11 but it couldn't be delivered to the address that's it goes back 200 miles :wow: to the USPS forwarding office and then it comes back to the local post office :wow: if the forwarding office thinks it appropriate if not then it will go back to the sender which is the USCIS in this case... :help:

its nerve wrecking honestly :bonk::bonk::bonk:

So sorry  That's a real mess! I really hope you get it soon!

Responding to someone that answered my statement. I think it was AuroreJeremy. I had my biometrics on the 30th of September and no updates on my case yet. My application was accepte on the 8th of September. Just feel like it's moving slow, definitely hope I don't get a RFE for any of my Applications. Btw everyone I'm adjusting status from a K1

I'm adjusting from K1 too and we have close timelines (got my NOA1 on Sept 9th and biometrics on Sept 24th) except I got a RFE. I checked case numbers around mine on USCIS website and a lot have had their EAD/AP approved (I think everything is on hold for me since I still haven't answered my RFE) so hopefully not too long before you see an update :)
