Congratulations!!!

Also congratulations for the driving permit!! I need to have mine done, I am too scared to drive here but it is needed, I know :cry:

Thanks!! and omg I feel the same exact way about driving ... :( I didn't have license in Spain. I have only driven once in my life and it was last summer in a parking lot with my father in law for maybe 15 minutes.

My husband is trying to sell one of his trucks so he can buy a smaller car for me to learn to drive.... And when I'm ready I will have to go take the driving test to be able to drive alone and finally get a job somewhere.. With the permit you are only allowed to drive with someone next to you in the car. But you like you said it's needed and we can do it :) :)

I just checked the USCIS website and my EAD has jumped to "My card was ordered to be produced" and AP has been approved! Woohoo I'm so happy!!

If they catch you working for cash without your EAD or Green card your AOS will be denied and you can even get deported! We are still not 100% admitted in this country until our green card is aprove

I just got the same email. Is that the card come with the tracking number?

Hey sorry I didndt see your comment before, so the email didn't have the tracking number but the USCIS status did :)

Just got my GC interview scheduled today for February 25!!! So excited! Can't wait to get the letter in the mail with the location and time! So happy to be done with the whole process in a month from now :)

Is there a way to find out the time and location before you get the letter in the mail? An online place or so?

How long does it take after your interview to have your GC in hand?

Do they take your EAD away at the interview?

Do you have to go back to the SSA to let them know you are PR and get an updated SSC or can it be done through the phone or online?

Lots of questions I know :P

Just called the USCIS customer service to see if I can find out the exact location and time of the interview so my husband can take time off from work for it. The guy on the phone was very nice but he didn't have that information so hopefully we'll get the letter in the mail shortly. He said it could be 3 or 4 days. That'd be awesome! So I guess I answered my first question :)

Yes! The letter does come super fast. I think mine took that 3 days or 4.

It was really fast :) one week to be produced and then once they send it they use priority mail so in two days was at home. Thanks girl!!!

LOL! I am not too confident in driving! I have my Malaysian license but the rules and way of driving here is totally different (left vs right side driving plus right on red rule and so much more!!) I am lucky that my husband and I are working in the same office plus I get to work from home most of the time :) It is probably the reason why I am still lazy to move forward with this HUGE jump in actually learning to drive, hahaha.

I am however learning with this company called Driver's Ed - https://driversed.com/they have a lot of clients that are foreigners (left vs right driving). Plus, they pick you up for the driving lessons and also send you home safely using their BMW mini. They also offer a $500 off if you want to buy a BMW mini from them (if you want to). I guess I think it would be a better option for me because 1. I get a real coach to teach me how to drive, 2. You dont need a spare care to learn how to drive, 3. On your actual testing day, they will send you to the DMV and 'cheer you on'! Might it be something for you too?

Weird - so interview was on the 22nd Jan and was approved the same day. Somehow my notification says that I will receive the card on March 23.

I see others get it within 2 weeks or so. I wonder if it is because I decided to change my display name in the card when we did the interview (last name change) - this might have caused the delay in getting the card in hand quickly. :bonk:

My notification said the same, for March (90 days from interview date ) and then when it was sent it said would arrive in 30 days and it was all done much faster.

I think they say that so people don't call them every day asking if something is wrong or it got lost... I think you will have it much sooner

Just got a notification saying that the green card has been mailed. You are right IRIScv! :dancing:

Yayyyy!! :dance: I'm so happy for you!!! You will have it in two days :) if you check uscis status there will be a tracking number with USPS :) mine didn't work until next day..

We just got the HR to confirm income, hourly rate (if applicable) and proof of employment and the HR person did his magic. There are no specific formats. We just got the HR to confirm income, hourly rate (if applicable) and proof of employment and the HR person did his magic. There are no specific formats. Thanks a lot! I've written it up and send it to my hubby. So excited about the interview! Can't wait for Feb 25! They even scheduled us after my hubby comes back from work so he doesn't even have to take time off! I love USCIS now!

My appointment was 730am, I think the earliest would be 7am because they were asking who was queuing for the 7am interview, we were there by 6.45am :)

No problem. But to be sure I made myself clear, we got the HR to write the employment confirmation letter with all the details ? it was also signed by the HR. I Am assuming you wrote the letter and will ask the HR to sign it and it should be fine.
