When i did my written test , the lady ask me if i wanted to do the driving test. I had to go to work that day so I wasnt able to do the driving test. I think you can ask them or they will offer to give you the driving test. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks a lot! At what point did she ask you for the driving test? After you passed the written test? I'd love to do it tomorrow too and get it over with if all goes alright.

I just checked the USCIS website and my EAD has jumped to "My card was ordered to be produced" and AP has been approved! Woohoo I'm so happy!!

If they catch you working for cash without your EAD or Green card your AOS will be denied and you can even get deported! We are still not 100% admitted in this country until our green card is aprove

I applied for a social security card at the Manhattan office, it was crazy quick and convenient. If there's anyone in New York City looking to apply for Social Security I would advice you ignore the Queens and Brooklyn social security offices and just go to Manhattan! The place was pretty much empty :P

When I visited the Queens office to change my wife's name the line was out of the door and around the block lol

Thanks! I think it went ok but I am not sure :S The job is in NYC but the telephone interview was with one of the company's global recruiters in London, UK. I used to live in the UK for the past 4 years doing my degree and part time work but the worst part is that he asked me for my university grade which in UK terms doesn't sound that good.. convert it to USA GPA and it sounds excellent -_- weird right?

Anw I am a software engineer/computing scientist.. I'm hoping to get a job soon cause I'm going crazy :/ The guy said they will let me know by Thursday... I guess I will just have to wait and pray :P

Hope you get this job! When should you start if you do?

I am in different field than you though. But I'll start sending applications everywhere after I'm done with the DL.

Hi guys I did the EREQUEST and got an email to wait till dec 13 and I havent still heard anything from USCIS regarding my interview date. What should I do? Who should I call? Or should I just keep on waiting...... Thank you and stay warm guys it's raining hard here in California

Call the service hotline and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. Likely you just haven't been scheduled yet, but they can at least verify that your application is at the right place and that everything is fine.

Sorry they are making you wait for what seems like forever! I know you must be anxious not knowing about the interview. I'm hoping I get another status update this month as well... I think if you ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer, they should be able to tell you something about your interview date. Sending positive vibes your way! Best of luck!

Oh cool! Yes. I hope I can do it in one shot. Cos I went to the El Cajon DMV today but they did not let me take the written test since my SSN hasn't yet been updated to my married name. I was really hoping they will accept the receipt I got from the SSA stating they'll change my name. But the lady was very nice and she got me another appointment at the San Ysidro DMV for Thursday. Hopefully my SSN will be updated by then cos it is such a long drive for me to get to San Ysidro. It's almost in Mexico. So if I'm driving that far I hope I can get in over with in one shot. Thank God gas prices are going down though!

Oh cool! Yes. I hope I can do it in one shot. Cos I went to the El Cajon DMV today but they did not let me take the written test since my SSN hasn't yet been updated to my married name. I was really hoping they will accept the receipt I got from the SSA stating they'll change my name. But the lady was very nice and she got me another appointment at the San Ysidro DMV for Thursday. Hopefully my SSN will be updated by then cos it is such a long drive for me to get to San Ysidro. It's almost in Mexico. So if I'm driving that far I hope I can get in over with in one shot. Thank God gas prices are going down though!

Oh that sucks, but you have to wait until you receive your ss card to actually confirm that their system is updated. hopefully you get the green light thursday. All the best.
