1 hour ago I received an email from USCIS. changes in my case: interview January 15!!!!!!!

Status in my 485 never changed since September when they received the document. I know to some people they sent another email first saying they are looking for a date etc.
I feel so weird already lol

I didn't even have a chance to use my EAD. I'm still waiting to go get my SSN...one of my sisters in law said she has free from work next week so I was waiting for that to start moving things

Just got back from the SSA office! They said my name will be updated in 24 hours and it will take up to 4 weeks to receive my card. I bet it will be here sooner though cos the original card with my maiden name was here in 4 days even though they said it can take up to 2 weeks.

So tomorrow I have scheduled my written test for the driver's license. So excited! I just wanted to ask you if you already had your DL exam, when is it best to schedule your behind-the-wheel test? Can you schedule it the same day? How much later after the written?

I applied for a social security card at the Manhattan office, it was crazy quick and convenient. If there's anyone in New York City looking to apply for Social Security I would advice you ignore the Queens and Brooklyn social security offices and just go to Manhattan! The place was pretty much empty

When I visited the Queens office to change my wife's name the line was out of the door and around the block lol

Thanks! I think it went ok but I am not sure :S The job is in NYC but the telephone interview was with one of the company's global recruiters in London, UK. I used to live in the UK for the past 4 years doing my degree and part time work but the worst part is that he asked me for my university grade which in UK terms doesn't sound that good.. convert it to USA GPA and it sounds excellent weird right?

Anw I am a software engineer/computing scientist.. I'm hoping to get a job soon cause I'm going crazy :/ The guy said they will let me know by Thursday... I guess I will just have to wait and pray

Hey guys,,, anyone who had the same experience as mine,,,, after I reecived my combo card,,, my hubby & I went to DMV, I applied for ID card since i still dn't know how to drive,,, the lady told me to wait for a letter for DHS verification since my combo card is new & still not on their system,, its almost 3 weeks now but no letter yet,,, this frustrates me,,, all this waiting,,. & i called DMV hotline today, the agent again told me to wait for a week or two or call USCIS. I called USCIS but its that automated machine again,,, huhuhu this really frustrating

So I just applied for one today and I'm waiting for it to come through the mail before going to the DMV again. I would suggest you go after you get a Social Security card since that number is what usually connects all government services together and helps identifying you as an individual :/

When i did my written test , the lady ask me if i wanted to do the driving test. I had to go to work that day so I wasnt able to do the driving test. I think you can ask them or they will offer to give you the driving test. Hope all goes well for you.
