Haha indeed you can truly trust your neighbor now ;) our mailman somehow knows me and my wife by name because we used to live at her parents in the house next door and now that we moved and I wrote our names on the new mailbox he brings all letters to our new house even when they are addressed to my wife's parents house ;)

Yes I am quoting myself, but guess what.. USCIS send me EAD at our old address (wifes parents house) and yes thank goodness the mailman came to my door and told me "you better be careful because if I wasn't around the other mailman could have taken your mail to the other house and I know it's quite important.. its your green card right? "

At least this guy knows how important these documents are :D and thank god he knows to bring me my letters even when the wrong address written on them! Now on to call USCIS and yell at them for not changing the address for my EAD application even after sending me confirmations that they did change it -_-

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been here much lately, but I just wanted to share my experience going to our interview today. We arrived 30 minutes before the interview scheduled for 11:15AM. Went through security and was asked to drop off the interview notice at window 2. This gentleman was really nice, He took the notice and ask us to have a seat and someone would call us shortly. We waiting just about 10 minutes passed the scheduled time and this really nice lady called our names. We walked into her office and had to sworn in before getting seated. She grabbed our file asked for our drivers license and my passport that included my last entry in the US and I-94. She started going through the forms provided to confirm name, DOB, local of birth, SSN, Address, date and local of marriage, etc of my spouse first (American Citizen) of the I-864 form. She made small talk as she was asking the questions like where is this place you were born, etc. No pressure type of environment as she was very pleasant to talk to. Since my spouse is self employed, she asked how were business this year and moved on. She started asking me the same questions about Name, DOB, SSN, date and local of marriage, etc in my form and went through every single questions on the I-485 Form Part 3 item C, like asking of I was member of any organization, committed any crime, etc ( i think there were like 15 questions). She looked at a few more things at the file and grabbed the pictures we had submitted with the package. Asked about our dog, and a few places on the pictures and pretty much that was it. I didn't have to use any of the additional documents I brought with me. She said that we did a great job filling out the forms and providing detailed information, then looked at us and told us she was going to approve us on the spot. She explained that i'd have to apply to remove the temporary condition on my green card before the two years using the I-751 form and that was it.

I'm so glad that this process is over. We have been very fortunate that our process was extremely quick compared to some of you (91 days since we sent the package), but I say don't give up or stress out too much. my thoughts for you going to the interview is just be yourself and tell the truth. Our interviewer was so great and made us feel relaxed as we were just having a normal conversation.

Thanks for all the support this group has provided to us and a lot of other people out there in the same situation. Keep a positive attitude and everything will be fine. God bless every single one of you!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience & CONGRATULATIONS!! Your process was super fast!

Congratulations :D Now relax and enjoy your life together ;) You won't have to deal with USCIS for another 2 years ;)

Thank you so much Ana_g101 and Snorlux. Good luck on your process.

I called USCIS and retrieved the tracking number for my EAD. Tracked it down and it was at my local post office. So I went to pick it up today so I can go to SSA today already. However, at the post office they told me that my card had already left with the mailman and it will be delivered today. It is now 5 PM and I doubt any mail is still coming. The delivery date on the USPS site is also Saturday so hopefully I will get it tomorrow.

I just don't understand how come my card was with the mailman and yet has not been delivered to me today as they said. It just doesn't make sense!

mine was delivered by the mail man too, it was a priority mail. and once it says on USCIS website that it has been mailed on a specific date, it takes 2-3 days to be delivered.

Yeah they send it priority mail 2-day. That's what it says when I track it. But I just don't get how come the mail man had it with him today but he never delivered it to me. Hopefully he'll bring it tomorrow. Otherwise I have to pay the post office another visit.

Good for you! But I am not sure for the credit card because I might show no credit score yet, but I guess some bank can open up for you as a secure credit card. Good luck!

Thank you guys! They have a lot of options to go about approving your credit card so hope to get one by the end of this year. Really excited to go to SSA tomorrow to see how long it will last for them to update my last name. If I manage to get DL this year it'll make my year!

For the green card interview I really believe it will be sometime in February for me cos the Chula Vista office processes I-485 in 4 months. Pretty quick for this process! Haven't received any RFE's yet so I assume the application package is complete.

For you to have a credit history, have your spouse add you as an authorized user on a credit card. My husband added me as authorized user on his credit cards more than 6 months ago. Last month I got approved for a Capital One credit card on my own and also a Kohls charge card. This month I was also able to request my own credit report from Experian.
