Thanks, I've done exactly the same think, I came here on a tourist visa with my wife, we weren't planning to stay but oh well things change. She is banking with citi bank so I guess I will go in tomorrow and ask.

I just checked the USCIS website and my EAD has jumped to "My card was ordered to be produced" and AP has been approved! Woohoo I'm so happy!!

If they catch you working for cash without your EAD or Green card your AOS will be denied and you can even get deported! We are still not 100% admitted in this country until our green card is aprove

Fall is beautiful here all the trees will change color and the weather will be nicer.... I'm excited too :) I hope to be able to drive soon. I never drove before because in Spain I lived in Barcelona so I could walk everywhere, use subway etc, so learning to drive is going to be a challenge too :) I have to learn about so many things and the only thing I can do so far is wait! Overwhelming!

Ohhh Where did you see about the RFE???

I went to the uscis website with the case number they give to look but there is not much information about my case so far.

I hope whatever they think you are missing is fixed soon :) can you do the biometrics with a RFE??? ( just wondering )

So after getting the work authoritzation What kind of jobs are you all going to try to find????? :)

Anything I can get pretty much lol .. Except maybe fast food restaurants, thats the one thing I dont think I can do. Before my work permit expired I used to work three jobs until I got one that paid well & gave me great health benefits. Hoping it wont take too long for my work permit to get here and for me to start working again cause I hate knowing I can't do much to help my husband with our rent and stuff

My husband and I went to his bank so he could include my name in his account, they can do that as long as you can show your marriage contract and ID with your married name like driver's license or National ID, no need for SSN.

I sure hope so! And I hope everyone will find a job they love! :)

I think it depends of the bank. I read on VJ that some people were able to open a bank account at Bank of America with just their passport. But with some banks it's not as easy. Like at my husband's bank they want me to have a state ID (which I don't have yet) to add me on his bank account. I don't remember if they asked about the SSN though. You should ask your spouse's bank.

Hello Guys,

I saw my case and I have an RFE....I don't know what are they asking for and I hope its just a simple mistake on my part, I am waiting for the mail for sure i'll get it this week, I will also try to get an early biometric on Tuesday.

I am also bored and cant wait to start working again, I am not use to being home alone during the day and doing nothing....

keeping my hope high to get this process done faster :-)

Anyway... when did you get your NOA1? And you just filed for AOS? or did you file EAD and AP as well? Do you know which got the RFE?

Woohoo good news ! I went to Citibank today and they said the can add me as a joint account holder and the only thing I need to bring with me is my passport and the account holder (my wife) of course :D

I think I'm the same way, lots of people is telling me waitress is really easy to start and if you are nice you make good money with the tips but I don't really want to work in anything related with food........ I guess if nothing else I can find I would try it but NOT fast food haha.

All my jobs in Spain has always been in retail it's the only thing I have some experience with but I don't really like too much......, the hours, weekends..... The people! Ughhhh

Good thing is there are so many opportunities in this country even if we start with something we don't like that much better options will come in the future!

Hi everyone...Ok quick question. My husband got his biometrics letter in the mail today for September 30th. Now that's wonderful, but my daughter had a field trip that day that we both committed to chaperone for. His appointment is at 8:30 and we are supposed to be at her school at 8:45...I was reading about people going earlier than the date of the appointment. I was wondering if that works or not? Just not quite sure what to do. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

Every office is different. Some allow it some don't, they allowed it at my local office. Just try to walk in with the letter and see what they say. I believe there's a thread here that consists of different local offices and whether or not people have been successful with early biometrics at various local offices. I can't remember the name of it so I hope someone chimes in with the link
