argh you guys... USPS sucks so bad .. my EAD travelled across the entire country in a night changing three states.. And now it's 30 minutes away from my house stuck in a sorting facility for the past 2 days ... this is so depressing USPS .. not cool.


Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been here much lately, but I just wanted to share my experience going to our interview today. We arrived 30 minutes before the interview scheduled for 11:15AM. Went through security and was asked to drop off the interview notice at window 2. This gentleman was really nice, He took the notice and ask us to have a seat and someone would call us shortly. We waiting just about 10 minutes passed the scheduled time and this really nice lady called our names. We walked into her office and had to sworn in before getting seated. She grabbed our file asked for our drivers license and my passport that included my last entry in the US and I-94. She started going through the forms provided to confirm name, DOB, local of birth, SSN, Address, date and local of marriage, etc of my spouse first (American Citizen) of the I-864 form. She made small talk as she was asking the questions like where is this place you were born, etc. No pressure type of environment as she was very pleasant to talk to. Since my spouse is self employed, she asked how were business this year and moved on. She started asking me the same questions about Name, DOB, SSN, date and local of marriage, etc in my form and went through every single questions on the I-485 Form Part 3 item C, like asking of I was member of any organization, committed any crime, etc ( i think there were like 15 questions). She looked at a few more things at the file and grabbed the pictures we had submitted with the package. Asked about our dog, and a few places on the pictures and pretty much that was it. I didn't have to use any of the additional documents I brought with me. She said that we did a great job filling out the forms and providing detailed information, then looked at us and told us she was going to approve us on the spot. She explained that i'd have to apply to remove the temporary condition on my green card before the two years using the I-751 form and that was it.

I'm so glad that this process is over. We have been very fortunate that our process was extremely quick compared to some of you (91 days since we sent the package), but I say don't give up or stress out too much. my thoughts for you going to the interview is just be yourself and tell the truth. Our interviewer was so great and made us feel relaxed as we were just having a normal conversation.

Thanks for all the support this group has provided to us and a lot of other people out there in the same situation. Keep a positive attitude and everything will be fine. God bless every single one of you!!!

Congratulations :D Now relax and enjoy your life together ;) You won't have to deal with USCIS for another 2 years ;)

9/5/2018: Oath Ceremony missed due to travel abroad and letter sent to USCIS to reschedule ceremony

10/2/2018: Officially a US Citizen!

I just checked the USCIS website and my EAD has jumped to "My card was ordered to be produced" and AP has been approved! Woohoo I'm so happy!!

If they catch you working for cash without your EAD or Green card your AOS will be denied and you can even get deported! We are still not 100% admitted in this country until our green card is aprove

Hello everyone. I'm so worried now because it's been more than a month since I submitted my RFE but the status is not updating. I saw some of you here same as my timeline and has RFE but you already got approved. Huhu. I don't know what to do anymore. It's like taking forever for mine. :(

AOS TIMELINE FROM K1:

Sep- 20- 2014 - AOS sent to Chicago ( delivered sept 22 )

Sep -26- 2014 - USCIS texts/emails received with case number

Sep -30- 2014 - Hard copies of NOA-1 received in the mail

Oct -10- 2014 - Biometrics letter received (Appointment on Oct 24)

Oct -17- 2014 - RFE Letter (Request for Initial Evidence) :(

I feel your pain, my RFE review has been pending for almost 2 months! It is frustrating how they decide whose case moves on after an RFE and who stays stuck for weeks. All we can do is wait ?

I mean it travelled from Kentucky to Tennessee and finally arrived in New York city in one night only to get stuck in a sorting facility for 2 days.. USPS sucks sometimes ..

It is stuck in a sorting facility literally 20 minutes away from my house for the past 2 days.. I don't even know if they lost it or if the sorting facility is just really late .. Haha indeed you can truly trust your neighbor now ;) our mailman somehow knows me and my wife by name because we used to live at her parents in the house next door and now that we moved and I wrote our names on the new mailbox he brings all letters to our new house even when they are addressed to my wife's parents house ;)
