I just checked the USCIS website and my EAD has jumped to "My card was ordered to be produced" and AP has been approved! Woohoo I'm so happy!!

If they catch you working for cash without your EAD or Green card your AOS will be denied and you can even get deported! We are still not 100% admitted in this country until our green card is aprove

righ, but i went to social securoty office and they told me if i applied for a new social security number, it will take 6 weeks to get a new number. i doubt if this is true, anyone here who applied for ssn already? as in new number? not with change name from maiden name?

If you already have an SSN, you don't actually get a new number if you apply to have your name changed.. Once you apply and receive your SSN, it is yours for life (which is why it is very important to limit disclosure of it!).

If you do not yet have a number, then you apply for a new SSN and it takes, on average, 10 business days to receive it in the mail. Again, be very careful about disclosing this number.

Hahaha I looked at my card for so long too! My husband thought I was crazy lol :content:

Yes next step is for you to apply for SSN. Then, when you have your social security card, you can get a DL and get a job!

I'm planning on going soon to the social security office (wanted to do it today but my husband couldn't take me). In the meantime, I've been working on my resume and starting to look at jobs online.

Thanks :) I guess I will doing the same working a bit on my resume while someone can take me to the SSoffice.... It may take a while because I asume they only open Monday-Friday and that's when everybody is working :(

Just got a text and an email saying my card has been ordered and let me tell you you all seemed so cool after your card was ordered but I just had a 10 minute panic attack i was crying i couldnt breathe and wait for it.. im a ###### guy that hasn't cried since he was 10 years old !!

Having said that me and my wife were under tremendous pressure for the last 4 months since we came to the US nad knowing that I can now work and I am only waiting for the card was overwhelming.. I thought the day would never come!!

Thanks everyone for being here and posting your updates, I think it helps everyone, and god bless the people who created visajourney.com

requested to expedite my AED over Uscis hotline today, and decided to do infopass and my appointment is tommorrow (thanks for encouraging me @mmanginasay) Its better to go to the local office here before i move to ohio next week. It will take me 30 mins to reach the local office here in NV while it will take 3 hrs in Ohio. So i decided to set the appointment here.

75 days of waiting with no RFE and husband lost his job 2 weeks ago. We have 2 kids and he served in the military for 21 yrs ... OMG, i just hope the immigration officer will have the heart to expedite my case.. i am so exhausted.

02/12/2014 - I-129F package sent

03/20/2014 - got approved (NOA2) yey!

05-20-2014 - Interview

05-23-2014 - CEAC status : From AP to Issued! (Thank God!)

If you already have a SSN you dont get a new number, Same number different name if you are going to change it to your married name.

Mine was less than 2 weeks, I went after biometrics and I got it with my married name

Did you all bring your Marriage certificate, passport, I-94, birth certificate and EAD to ask for a SSN???

So many documents are mentioned in the page I'm not sure if that's all you must bring or with one of two of those you are good to go.

Also my father in law asked me if I can do it from a postal office?? We have to go to the actual place right??

Marriage certificate, passport, I-94, birth certificate and EAD --- I think the documents suffice already.

Yes you have to go to an actual SS place :) So glad many are getting good news!!

Yes girl just be truthful and be yourself and also bring your husband that will help speed up the case.
