Hi there,

My finance assembled items for packet 3.5 to forward to the US embassy in Islamabad however, the courier service wont deliver saying that she would need to follow a new process that went into effect on Aug. 24. This new online process/website can be used to pay for the visa as well as do the interview scheduling for all 'non-immigrant' visas. K-1 is a non-immigrant visa.

USEM website listing the new process

The issue is that once you register, the website does not have the K visa category listed through the online wizard. I created tickets twice through this website for this issue but they were closed very soon after my submission without any answer to my questions. I called their toll free number for Pakistan and the customer service rep. promised to contact his supervisor and reply to me as how to proceed. I am still waiting for his reply via. email. I will call them again later tonight US time.

For now I have sent an email to the USEM to clarify how to proceed since the new online tool/application does not list the K visa and the American Express courier service wont accept the package 3.5 to be sent back to the embassy.

Any advise about this new process or this limbo situation? Its almost 3 months since the K-1 application was approved and I feel like I am running close to 4 month deadline for K-1. I am struggling with new website/process for a few days now.

Thanks.

The K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, but it is processed by the immigrant section of the consulate. Info about it can be found under immigrant visas, not non-immigrant > http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/document_checklist.html

Contact the consulate to find out about scheduling and payment for a K-1, if it was not in the instructions they sent you.

The courier service contacted the consulate and got green light to send in the package. The package was sent yesterday.

The consulate did not yet reply to my email inquiry. The immigrant section cannot be contacted over phone.

It would be nice to be able to pickup your interview date as its now with the non-immigrant visa under the new process.

I will update status as well as we hear back from the USEM.

Thanks.
