Hi, i applied for the 1-751 form on 14-8-2014, and my green card expired on 16-8-2014. I had an emergency to travel back home on the 16-8-2014. Went to infopass to see if i could get a stamp. They refused and asked me to wait for my receipt. I asked them if my lawyer could mail me the receipt when i'm out of the country, so i can get back into the US. They said it was at my own risk. I told my lawyer that i had to go. She said it will be fine. That she'll mail me the receipt when it arrives. I left the US and it's up to 3 weeks now. No receipt yet.

My lawyer said she also filed the form 1145, so the receipt could also be emailed to me. But still havent gotten anything. We have called the immigration and they said it takes up to 30 days and they can't attend to my case unless its been 30 days since i filed for the 1-751.

My question is, Whats the worst case in my situation? I don't mind waiting for the receipt but why is mine taking so long?

My husband and i had all the necessary documents.

What date did you actually depart the United states? I know you are supposed to show both your passport and your residency card at the airport before an international flight. I hope your Notice of action isn't missing because it should have been sent out by now. I hope it works out for you because you may be scheduled for biometrics next week based on your filling. An appointment you cannot afford to miss.
