Hi guys...,

Just a quick question. How much does it help, when a Senator is requesting the status or checks what is causing the delay?

I got a confirmation letter, that the senator is now waiting on an answer on his request, they send a letter and called.

Any experience?

Thank you so much in advance

Vicky

He can't do any more than you can do yourself, which is inquire.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Filed: Timeline

My experience has been as such: very early on during AOS (had not even received the biometrics letter yet) I received a very unexpected job offer. My USC husband called his Congressman, we did a walk-in Biometrics (due to the Congressman's phone call to both the servuce center and USCIS as that service center did not accept walk-ins) and within 36 hours I had the email that EAD was in production AND an email from the Congressman confirming.

I'm not saying my journey has been smooth, but I've always reached out to those who could help when I met a snag in the road and it has worked.

I am sure you will hear soon!!! You did very well to contact your Senator.

I read somewhere that in each service center there is a unit which Handel congressmen queries. When they recieve a query from a congressman most of the time that unit will go pull your file and put it in front of the officer to adjudicate your case if there is no reason to hold your case. So, I think you will hear something soon
