Good point but you forget rule #1 is that if there is not an anti-US slant or at least and anti-western slant it doesn't count.

The middle east actually embraced science during the spread of Islam. This is the same time the Catholic church had a strangle hold on Europe forcing them into the dark ages. It was during that time, the Islamist and middle easterners pioneered new forms or astrology, created algebra and many other scientific advances. Then they came down with a case of bad leadership and fell apart again. It happens..... to everyone really. Look at all the ups and downs China has had. In many cases, all on their own.

The only thing the 7th-8th century Islamic army spread was war from Iran, in the east, all of North Africa, to Alhambra (Spain) in the West. They did so in a manner not unlike that the current bunch of Salafist's in the Levant.

They came down with a bad case Charles 'The Hammer' Martell of Aquitaine, at the Battle of Tours (8th CE). The Arab army was decimated and their leaders dead. The army retreated back over the Pyrenees to Spain never to return. In a matter of a few years, they fell into a disastrous civil war...

The moral: If the spineless European leaders plan to sit on their haunches and wait for America to do the dirty work, they will reap the world-wind, it will not be pretty.

This is not a time to be sitting on the sideline's hoping to reason with these Salafist monsters....

I know where the Chamberlain's lap dogs are, but is where are Churchill's bulldogs ?

This global jihad like it, or not. How we got here is irrelevant, how we respond is....

Yeah it's not like the US actually had anything to do with deposing Mossadegh in Iran in 1953 or Saddam Hussein in 2003. We can carry on pretending that what's happening today has nothing to do with what US foreign policy, or we can be honest and accept the facts for what they are. There's no reason to get indignant about that.

All great civilizations make gains through conquest. The ones that encourage scientific exploration do the best. Rome/England/Spain/France were all "war spreaders." But they also spread knowledge.

In order to reach a target in Europe they'd have to enter Eurocontrol airspace first, which is highly unlikely without the required element of surprise. Remember that since MH370 every potential target around the world has been on high alert to air intrusions.

I wouldn't put it past someone trying it but making it to the target will be more difficult, especially when chances are someone will be at the door to greet them.

One aircraft at a time would be easy to counter. Spread 11 different aircraft entering European airspace at different points and you can very quickly cause sufficient confusion to get one or more past the defenses.

They could get really inventive and crash it into say a large cruise ship, a nuclear power plant, or an airport, or EU parliament..

A cruise ship would be a high casualty target and easier to hit, if it was out in the Med.

Well.. You can go on pretending than anyone is pretending anything and use it to make false points so you can make smarmy remarks against stuff that was never said in the first place... again and again.

You are so easy to send off into a rant: say something anything nice about the US and you fly off into a tizzy every time.

I should say something positive about white people, your head might explode... Thinking about it.. Not only in number but per captia as well white men contribute more to science and the economy than any other group going on two centuries straight.

I had not considered that.. 11 aircraft all at once... Maybe all at one target but slightly different routes.. That would be hard to stop.

The U.S. and European leaders already "did something" in Libya.

That's why this is happening.

Yes Libya was doing really well for so long... On the verge of building the enterprise I hear.

Hey we ignored Syria for a long time.. At least they are going awesome.

It's interesting that you make these claims about my emotional state - yet it is your posts that are full of indignant invective.

My view is simply that what is happening across the middle east is a direct result of US foreign policy destabilising the region. Not the only factor in play of course, but a significant one nonetheless.

You're perfectly free to disagree with that, yet going by the above post it seems you are motivated less by disagreement and more by personal dislike. Perhaps some breathing exercises would be beneficial?
