Hi, VJ friends.

Please, tell me that...

We live in the Crimea, part of Ukraine. All notaries Crimea switched to Russian license when Russia annexed Crimea. Any documents issued by the Russian authorities in the Crimea, are considered to be a forgery (void) everywhere except in Russia.

For departure from Ukraine to the United States my child must have a notarized permission for minor to travel abroad from the parent who does not move with the child. Biological father of the child is afraid to leave the Crimea and go to Ukraine in order to write a legal permission at an Ukrainian notary. How to get out of this situation? Please, advise.

P.S. Somebody flew from Kiev via Moscow to the United States? Asked where this document? In Kiev? Moscow did not ask? And if you buy two tickets. The first ticket from Kiev to Moscow (the document does not require), a second ticket from Moscow to the United States (whether it is possible to fly from Moscow without permission?).

Unfortunately you probably realize that if he is not willing to leave Crimea to complete this Ukrainian notarized document for the minor child's travel, then there's very little if any way to accomplish this.

Also, if the father has since changed to a Russian passport, the willingness of Ukraine customs to allow entry, and any notary services to provide assistance is questionable. Especially for a man.

If he still has Ukrainian papers...then he'll have no problems, and his worries are unnecessary. But you probably know all this already.

Good luck.

He still has a Ukrainian passport, as well as all the inhabitants of the Crimea. Nobody is in the process of failure of Ukrainian citizenship. Everyone leaves Russian passport at home, to enter Ukraine.
