If your NOA was just on 9/29, I'd wait another week or two before getting worried. Do you know if they cashed your check?

I am really getting worried now, I still haven't received my biometric appointment. NOA 09/23/2014. I am a September filler and also on the list. I put in a service request about 12 days ago, still noting! Any advice and suggestions are appreciated folks.

Ok great people, the last correspondence I received from USCIS was my NOA "receipt" on 9/29/2014 looking at my timeline with the September 2014 N400 filler. I still haven't recieve my biometric appointment in the mail, so I'm kind of wondering what's going on. I feel I should have got it by now. Is this normal/ do I need to just keep waiting? Just want to make sure I'm not just sitting patiently while I should act. Please advice. Thank you folks.

Kmzrtl , thanks for your comment. Yes, money order was cashed 09/24/14. I would just wait a week more as you suggested. Hopefully i get it.

Maybe try to make an infopass appointment and talk to an officer directly? Maybe they can give you more insight on the delay, if they still haven't responded to your service request.

It did happen the same thing to me when I had to renew my GC. I've never received the bio appointment. After 30 day you received the NOA (such as October 29th in your case) you can call USCIS and ask for an infopass or go on the USCIS web site.

They will give you a confirmation code and after 2 weeks you will receive a new BIO appointment. Not a big deal but I remember I was worried like you, sometimes the mail gets lost....

Thank you guys. You both suggested make an infopass appointment which i am doing first thing tomorrow. I got home from work today and i found a pre-Interview yellow letter sitting in the mail! It was dated 10/24/2014. I was surprised, i never even done biometric yet. They skipped 1 step of the whole process!

Questions:

1. My wife is not in the military,so I never selected this on my application, i just went over the PDF version of my N400 application to be sure it wasn't a typo from me, however on my yellow letter, it states:

You have indicated that you are applying for naturalization under section 319 of the INA: Marriage to a US citizen regularly engaged in specified employment abroad. Provide your state or foreign issued and recorded marriage certificate.

How do i proceed from here? Do i need to call them about this error or just wait until interview date, as I never selected this option, i have no proof, but i have all other requirements and would take with me to interview.

2. For those who have an idea about this situation, What would the order of process now be, since biometric step has been skipped?

Yellow letter - Biometric Appointment - Biometric Day - Inline for interview - Interview Day ? Are the listed order correct ? Would this further delay my whole process? Please advice.

Glad to hear that you at least received something from them

Not sure on your first question. It could be an error on their part, or does your wife travel a lot internationally for work? The way I read that, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is a military application.

For the second question. Have you had any biometrics done in the last 18 months with USCIS? As I believe biometrics are valid for 18 months if not you might want to still mention this to them so you don't end up with a delay during your process.

If you do not need the biometrics at all, your process probably would still look similar just without the biometrics in there.

No my wife has never traveled outside of the USA before, so i don't know how they came up with that employment abroad stuff!

Yes, my last biometric appointment was for ROC for my 10 year Green card last year dated 10/17/2013 @ 2 pm. Just checked my records to confirm that. I paid for biometric for my N400 thou. Do you think they want me to skip biometric since its within 18 months? They could at least write me to keep me informed if that is what they intend doing. I guess i'll just keep waiting to see what they decide to do.

No my wife has never traveled outside of the USA before, so i don't know how they came up with that employment abroad stuff!

Yes, my last biometric appointment was for ROC for my 10 year Green card last year dated 10/17/2013 @ 2 pm. Just checked my records to confirm that. I paid for biometric for my N400 thou. Do you think they want me to skip biometric since its within 18 months? They could at least write me to keep me informed if that is what they intend doing. I guess i'll just keep waiting to see what they decide to do.

My guess is that they probably got something confused on that first part, might not hurt to give them a call or a visit, to have them correct that, so that it wont cause your approval to be delayed after the interview.

They probably just took your 2013 biometrics to run against the n400 application. Not sure why they didn't waive the fee. Honestly didn't read up on that when I applied, as it didn't apply to my case. But I wonder if the fee still had to be paid because they still run the fingerprints through the FBI background check. Just guessing though...
