What's going on at the Houston office?

It seems that they have stopped scheduling people for interviews, does anyone know why? It's frustrating that I could have taken the oath by now if I'd applied to any other TX office. I can't believe I'm going to miss out on voting in yet another election because of this. I'm getting sick of paying taxes without having a say in how they're spent.

Where's your timeline? What is your greencard date?

I was eligible to file on March 8th which is when I filed. The last I heard from them was the yellow letter which was dated 6/20, I called on Aug 6th which was 90 days since I was put in line for interview scheduling (May 8th) and told they'd investigate and to wait 15-30 days for more news. 30 days will be Friday this week.

For me it's been over 2 months since I had my biometrics done and so far my status has not even changed to in line for interview :(... I have called and they told me that it's still within average processing time... got yellow letter dated July 10th so I still have to wait till next month to ask for service request....

Well, the March 2014 *estimates timeline for the Houston office was 5 months. It's just coming up on five months now. The timeline now for Houston is more than 7 months. The wait sucks, but you'll be getting it sooner or later.

As for voting, you may not make that primary next week, but at least, you'll get to vote in the general election.

It will be 6 months on Monday. They won't have me sworn in before the Nov 4 election, it will be 2016 by the time I get to vote :(

You will have to be sworn in before that. October 6 is the last day to register and be eligible for Nov 4 election.

Houston ceremonies tend to be around the third Wednesday of the month. If you interviewed today, then maybe you could be scheduled for this month, but if you interviewed closer to mid month, you would likely get scheduled for the following month. At least that's what a lawyer told me while we were waiting on my husband to be called in. The lawyer seemed to familiar with the drill. Interesting, afterwards we were told to go wait about 30 minutes and they would prepare his oath ceremony letter and hand it over right then. The lawyer's client wasn't so lucky. He didn't get approved on the spot. I was eavesdropping on that lawyer talking with another lawyer who also didn't get her client approved. It's easy to spot the lawyers. They are the only ones in suits scurrying around acting important.

My husband's experience couldn't have been easier. The lady didn't even want to see the documents the yellow letter said he must bring. She wasn't bothered.
