What documents are needed from petitioner (for an interview)?

Hi guys,

I am a petitioner. My fiancée has an interview in London pretty soon. She has a sponsor – my relative who is currently in the US.

I have some savings. I have not been working for last 4 years because I was a student in the UK, so I have not filled my taxes (due to no income).

What documents should I provide for the interview?

Also what income should have a sponsor?

Thank you…

Nothing from you if you can't sponsor, unless your petition has expired. You don't have a timeline, so can't tell when you got petition approval (NOA2).

I don't know what you are asking here--> Also what income should have a sponsor?

I meant how much (per year) should earn sponsor? For example, if sponsor yearns $12,000 per year (I guess) he/she cannot qualify to be sponsor – because income is too low.

I do not mean that our sponsor has $12,000 income, it is just an example.

Sorry, I guess English is not your native language and I didn't understand.

Sponsors are generally expected to earn 125% of the poverty guidelines for their family size +1 for the immigrant.

So if your sponsor's family had a mom, dad, and two children, then look on the chart for the requirements for 5 people because they have to count the immigrant. Chart http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Ok,

My sponsor who has family of three people sponsors my fiancée. What is his minimum income should be?

According to the chart his minimum income should be $24,737? Am I right?

Also this is the information for I-864 Form (and we use I-134 form).

$24,737 is correct if it is husband/wife/immigrant = 3

$29,812 s correct if it is husband/wife/child/immigrant = 4

For the I-134 the rule is

"As the sponsor, you must show you have sufficient income or financial resources to assure that the alien you are sponsoring will not become a public charge while in the United States."

So the exact amount is not written into the law, but the same salary amounts for the I-864 are usually expected on an I-134 by the officer conducting the interview. London is fairly flexible, but with a fiancé who doesn't meet the level, and another sponsor who doesn't meet those minimun poverty guidelines, they probably would not be convinced you wouldn't become a public charge.

And once you enter the US and adjust status, you will need that amount for sure. So might as well get a qualified sponsor now.
