my understanding is that i do not subscribe to the bootstrap theory. it's not so simple in my opinion.

bona fides, that's funny. i'm going to answer your questions, not because i think they're valid questions or that the answers matter - because they don't. here ya go: i'm not doing anything to improve race relations, except carrying myself to my own standard (that's all anyone can do). i have black people in my family, i guess if you're taking mixed race as 'black people'. i have black neighbors. but i don't talk to or hang out with any of my neighbors. i have black friends but none that i see or talk to on a daily basis, unless you count facebook.

and i post here all the time. but i'd love to see me put up a questionable video from a leftist you tube channel and see how serious and contemplative everyone gets. lol.

Your music selection gets you a pass in my book. Anyone that can quote PE off the top of their heads is alright with me.

Only one problem with that theory. Valid claims of racism get mixed in with all the noise. When folks blame every negative thing that happens to black people on racism, after awhile people just tune it out. That's where I'm at anyway. I guess I'm a racist, and you know what? IDGAF.

Whats amazing to me is, the same crowd the calls for color blindness, equality , no stereotyping, no seeing color in things etc.

Is the same crowd telling me, I am "#######" for agreeing with a black person, because I am white

Let the slow putrid stink of stupidity on that one sink in

Here's the rub, Val.... inequality will never be erased, period. It exists in all countries, among all peoples, and at multiple levels.

i am well aware that inequality will never be erased. i personally believe that we will not and cannot move on from slavery, as a country 'black community' and 'white community' without reparations. it's not a popular opinion. it's actually one that will pretty much guarantee that the majority will refuse to take anything else you say seriously..

'a black' eh? Nice.

Yes, "a" is the correct choice, it goes with words that begin with consonants. I would have used "an" had the next word begun with a vowel or a silent "h".

well, because anyone can post anything to youtube. and he might be dead on point, for the black people he considers his own but..'stop blaming racism, take responsibility' is way too simplistic a vantage for my taste.

So his points aren't valid because you don't agree with him? You're white, so you're not able to critique his video.

i don't believe in 'color blindness' i believe in appreciating each culture for what it brings to the table. i used to have the same problem in calling myself a feminist because i thought that meant i had to believe women are equal to men in all things, which it doesn't and i still don't believe that. but i don't have a problem calling myself a feminist. i read a bunch..

Just curious Val. What type of reparations would you consider?

no, i didn't watch the video because of the title and the source (the youtube channel - not nb). like i said earlier, i've never ever heard a black person blame racism for everything wrong in their lives.

Sure doesn't look like him.

I will change it.

Thank you val. My feelings have taken a beating. Your kindness will not go unnoticed in heaven
