Hi! What do you mean income not sufficient? Was it below the poverty line and NVC did not check it or your case was expedited?

A third possibility is that an AOS meeting the official requirements is simply not accepted by the consulate for whatever reason. Some are much pickier than others. Most commonly, if you're close to poverty guidelines you may get through NVC but then have the consulate require you get a joint sponsor. Years ago I was a joint sponsor for a friend in that position. He had been unemployed for his most recent tax year and barely cleared poverty guidelines. He had since resumed working and his current income was more than sufficient to meet the requirements, but Moscow delayed visa approval at the interview pending a joint sponsor.

Exactly BOS_LHR. It was close to the poverty guideline. Got through NVC but CO didn't accept it and asked for a joint sponsor.

Didn't know that. The ELIS pdf guide doesn't mention anywhere that you could update your address.

True, I just created an ELIS account this morning and paid the Immigration fee ($165). It didn't ask me to update or verify address anywhere throughout the process.

Glad it's not just me. I didn't know how I could've missed a step like that if it were part of the registration process, so I figured (hoped) it just wasn't included in account setup. That doesn't make much sense to me, as account setup is already full of hoop jumping, why not just verify your address as part of it? But ah well. Either way, I'd recommend going back to your Profile page and getting the info in there as a precaution. My husband's green card arrived finally arrived today, 2 1/2 months after POE. I hope it's much quicker for all of you!

What would be the Physical address since she is not here yet!

Should I leave it blank and enter only Mailing address?

Thank you

Visit this website: http://www.cbp.gov/contact/deferred-inspection/overview-deferred-inspection

Find your nearest CBP Deferred Inspection location and visit them in person. Tell them Social Security can't find your wife in the system.

Hi Guys,

I've read lately that all october Interview dates have been filled, is there a new thread for November now??

Thanks!

We roll into the next month on the last day of the month. Nothing much will happen in the next few weeks. And even if they did start November scheduling now we stay here and I start November on September 30th. Otherwise it gets cray cray.

We do this thread just like the NVC filers thread we roll into a new thread each month closing the previous so everyone hops aboard.

Hey guys, Thank you for giving the info. It seems like since many dont know, maybe many ppl do not have an address in there prior to POE.

Wish i knew about it yesterday. I went in and updated the address but could not save it bc it should be done by my husband and if i put in his name (as the signature) and the account passcode, if CBP sees the update time, they will be like, "um ..... How did u update this while u were on the plane?????" So, i hope he can remember the house address without having to dig through tons of papers!! I also hope not having it there prior to poe will not delay the G.C. Or SS card receipt

Daaaaaang, I would never have pinned Gus (my favorite Agent) to striaght up lie! That's not how scheduling works at all lol

They don't start scheduling interviews until they receive the initial calendar with the Embassy's capacity for the month. This is why some Embassies take longer to start than others (NVC doesn't have the schedule yet). Once they reach capacity, they are done. I think the 'round 2' comes in if the Embassy still has openings after the first week (commonly referred to as 'round 1').

Now, with scheduling: those idiots do it randomly. It's not first in, first out. Agent Don explained that and if you look at the spreadsheet, you'll see. Priority Date, Case Creation date, Case Complete date is not factored into scheduling. Scroll through the June/July Interview thread and read my diatribe lol

You mean Gus lied to me!? :wow: That's okay. :content: I never thought he was THAT NICE!:rofl::rofl:
