Hello everyone,

I sent my both IV and AOS package together on 27th August. I called NVC to get confirmed. They told me that our package has been received on 29th August. But i didn't get any hard copy of that. I have attorney with my case. So do i need to call NVC for hard copy or it is normal if i don't get any hard copy. Plus how do i know whether they are completed with my case or not.

Thank you in advance.

The only way you know that NVC has received the package is when they confirm they have it after you call them.

You will not receive any hard copy of that.

You have to continue to keep calling them to know the status of your documents. Nowadays,it is normally 50 to 60 days for completion of case from them having scanned the documents, unless you get some checklist....; then it gets delayed further...

If you are lucky, your documents may be reviewed much earlier than that.

All the best :)

SOS!!!!!

I got the interview letter from NVC on the 11th of September and the interview has been scheduled for October 16.

I just checked the interview schedule of Mumbai consulate for the month of October and my case number is not there!!!!!!!!

How is it possible that both me and my husband have got the interview letters and the appointment does not show in the pdf of the mumbai consulate schedule of October appointments.

Does anybody have any idea what is happening?

Panicking here and have to wait till Monday to call anybody and find out :( :(

Have already scheduled the medicals .....

Thought I would do the biometrics appointment scheduling today and now have to wait till Monday to talk to NVC or Mumbai Consulate to proceed further.....

Hey guys

Just updating.

Husband had his interview on the 11th. VISA APPROVED (found out as soon as the interview was over)!! :)

Many thanks to VJ for being a HUGE support and all the help!!

They didn't ask for ANY paperwork from him that day - other than proof of marriage issuance (certificate) from the church. No photos, No I-864, No additional paperwork! STRANGE!! But who is complaining!!!!

:-)

Good luck to all of y'all who is going through this process!!

Let me know if I can be of any help!!

Just checking in - hubby got his SSN yesterday after his POE on August 30. With the federal holiday in there (Labor Day), it seems to be taking roughly a week to receive the SSN after POE. :) Next step is him getting his TXDL and GC!

Hey,

So my hubby's POE was on 26th August and he has not received anything yet!! Did yoy guys receive it in the mail or did you go to the office and apply?

I would recommend going in person if you haven't received the card yet. Many people on the green card thread are reporting the SSN coming about a week after POE. We waited 3 weeks before going in person because that's what Social Security's website said to do, and I really regretted it. We had a lot of problems we could've had a head start on if we'd gone in sooner. Good luck!

Does the consulate in Mumbai, India or in general actually give your affidavit of support papers back? The one's that you submitted to the NVC.

My wife received a 221(g) letter and was asked to submit a i864a form from me (the petitioner) and was returned the i864(signed by my dad) form which I had submitted to the NVC.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

BOS_LHR already gave you some great advice, but to answer your question, yes it arrived in the mail 10 calendar days after POE since we had Labor Day in there. POE was Aug 30th and it says Sept 3rd on his SS card so I'm assuming that's when they processed it. Edited by k.dlg

Please i would like to ask this question, i have a friend which i met when i traveled to my husband the last time in Moscow and since then we've been friends, he petitioned his wife and she is a Russian but they only met once and that was when they got married because the husband who is a USC is always busy. there interview is on october 2nd and again the husband could not get a break from work. he works from monday to saturday and its difficult for him to visit the second time but they do talk on skype and they've got a hell lot of phone call log and skype calls and so on.. she asked me for an advice and i would really love to hear your own side before i reply her. Do you think that she will have a problem for meeting only once during the interview in Moscow being the fact that Moscow is an easy embassy
