I finally got my interview date today. October 7th. God is so good.

He is indeed!

Woke up to my interview letter!!! 7th October!!!!

I haven't had internet for 2 days, so haven't been able to call since Monday (since I use Skype) so this was a huge surprise as I thought it would take at least a week to get the email.

The waiting has been worth it to get such an early date, since Sydney only does these interviews on Tuesdays, this is the best possible date in October we could have gotten!!! :dancing::dancing: :joy:

What a wonderful way to find out that the scheduling delay didn't push your interview to the back end of the month.

Congrats to you and to all who got their dates today.

i am utterly perplexed....i dont even know how to react! i got an email from NVC and i opened it thinking its an email saying case is completed and to wait for interview date..... but it was the interview letter email!!!! i cant wait till hubby wakes up to see this :) Oct 16th is the date....i did not expect this at all!! Had thought it wouldnt be until November

On the letter it says to bring petitioner birth certificate.... did anyone else at Mumbai consulate also get that?? did you have the original birth certificate for Petitioner??

Thanks guys! I am still in shock!

Congrats!!!!

Our interview is October 16 too, at Mumbai.

Yes, we had submitted original birth certificate of petitioner to NVC.

So now for interview, we have to take only copy of the certificate.

Guess, we will meet there!!!!

Thank you both!! Feels go strange to be able to plan for anything after so much waiting! I have been completely useless at work today! Booked my husband's medical, looked for flights (interview is interstate), started organising a folder of paperwork to take to interview and contacted our real estate agent to advise we will finally be putting the house on the market next month (pending visa approval). Now to start organising the house for sale and think about what to sell, give away, pack etc. My head is spinning!!!

Looks like we may be able to tie things up in time to spend one last Christmas in Australia and start the New Year in the USA!

Yes, I have booked my medical in Chennai.

Medical appointment is very easy to get. The hospital told me that I could book 2 to 3 days before the appointment, but since I had to make train travel plans in advance to Chennai, I took out the appointment for October 7 today.

Still debating whether to do biometrics in Chennai or Mumbai :D :D

My turn for a question...

My interview is on October 1st, and NVC said my case was shipped on September 2nd. My status still shows In Transit and DHL doesn't show any Kuwait-bound shipments since early August.

Need I be concerned or is it really a combination of lax DHL/embassy procedures on logging case movement/status?
