Quick question Phillip. Has your AOS fee changed from PAID to N/A on CEAC? If yes, was it recently or months ago? I'm trying to pinpoint a pattern.

dwheels: This check list is great and is a needed reminder to everyone to prepare for the consulate interview

Also, different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially note what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

Well can't add every embassy in the post. What everyone needs to be doing is going to their countries portal here and read the onformation. Some countries are robust with information others not so much. Everyone can update add.

Also everyone should be visiting the USEM website in their country to see information.

Same here it changed to N/A months ago..perhaps it's because of CC or the New Fees are require in Nov ( Heard that they introduced new fees and all applicants will have to pay again in Nov )

Oh well... It didn't change for me for weeks after CC until just before my interview was scheduled. I was trying to figure out if it changes only after a case is cleared for scheduling, not just CC.

No, not pay again. Non-IV applicants may have to pay up the difference. IV applicants will pay the new fees only if they are billed beyond the announced date. We're done paying NVC since we have CC already.

Thanks for the information will have added with the information for all to visit their country portal for instructions and information.

People need to be updating these portals after NVC, Interviews, POE. It sad some portals have no useful information at all.

This may be a stupid question but I couldn't find the answer on the embassy website.

Our interview is tomorrow at the Tokyo embassy. Does anyone know if most embassies allow you to bring in your keys, wallet, or a pen?

It says no sharp objects but I don't know if they consider keys to be "sharp", same with a pen

Good luck with your interview tomorrow! I'm actually waiting for NVC to schedule my interview in Tokyo.

I would assume you should be able to bring these items as they should be considered as valuable items.

I would be very surprised if they don't allow you to bring them...

Calling the embassy is a waste of time since they know nothing of you. It's NVC that schedules if you want to find out if you have an interview you call NVC tomorrow or hopefully you will have an email.

Not until you have an interview and your case-file sent to embassy will they know about you.
