Also what are the most common reasons people get checklisted for IV docs. Please share your experiences

Haven't experienced it myself but from what I have seen from others, people usually get a checklist for missing translation, poorly translated documents, not original/certified civil documents or simply a document may be missing. Sometimes the document may be sent but NVC may say they have not received it. Someone also got a checklist because their certificate was too plain-looking.

Just called and talked to Yvette, she said our case is complete, just waiting for the interview to be scheduled, and they are still scheduling for October interviews!!!!

Paid still says Paid. lol

Thrilled to see that there are a few CC's already this week... congrats to all the recipients.

I have a question that I asked last week, and didn't get an answers, or at least not any that I know of. So I thought I would ask again, although maybe this is not the right place... if you know of a better forum in which to ask please let me know.

I will be leaving at the end of the week to go visit my husband in Venezuela. We are waiting for a CC, hopefully some time this month, and I was hoping to be able to take any documents that would be necessary for the interview to him. Where could I find a list of what he will need? In the embassy information on Visa JOurney, it seems to mostly talk about K1 interviews, not CR-1.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. perhaps I should post in the regional forum as well?

It is so wonderful to see so many Case Completes today. Congratulations to you all.

Let's hope NVC keep forging ahead with some sense of urgency and that we can all be reunited with our loved ones as soon as possible.

Samreen - great to see you back. Glad you are feeling a bit better. You have my sincere sympathies and understanding. This process is SO stressful for everyone. The job certainly sounds like it can at least keep your mind busy.

Well..... my wife and I are devastated. She is in tears. Crushed. After surviving the USCIS backlog and 11 months in process both our IV and AOS packages were reviewed yesterday and we are getting a Checklist. I cannot adequately express our sadness at this time as it looks like it might be another Christmas separated.

And it's so frustrating of an error. Checklist on the AOS. Section 6, 13.A.1 Total Income. I really can't believe it. Something so basic. Something covered here countless times by many others. We used an attorney and he totally blew it by using line 37 instead of line 22 on the 1040. I pay some spousal support to my old ex which is the only difference in the 2 lines. But I'm crushed....it's my fault. Although she insisted on using an attorney her relatives "highly recommended" I never trusted him completely. I continually questioned him along the way and he seemed to know his stuff. Unfortunately I let my guard down and did not follow up on this one point to make sure he used the right number. Everything else was accepted. Just this one number doesn't match the tax return that was submitted right along side it. Kind of silly if you think about it.

We will likely get the stinging email in a day or two.

And given the ridiculous incompetence of our government offices and the NVC's inability to plan for this predictible backlog, this will cost Rosalit and I another two months waiting. This is the worst possible time to be checklisted by the NVC.

Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening. Congrats to everyone that have received their CC recently. Someday we hope to join you guys.

Well, I'm going to sign off of VJ for a while. I was here frequently the last 2 weeks as our 60 day wait was coming to pass. But now I can't bear to even think about this process any more for a while.

I feel for you, you're the second one today who got a checklist because of a lawyer. NVC seriously needs to put checklists on a priority. I heard checklists sent in by lawyers get reviewed faster, don't know how much truth there's to it. Let us know what happens.

However, I read from NVC website the new rules on sending documents. It says that both AOS and IV as ONE package. I am confused, should we include another AOS in our IV package? Or we only need to submit IV docs?

Finally got notice to pay our IV bill and was able to (dated 9/4)

We decided to wait to make this payment before sending off our original documents (even though that seems to be changing). Congrats to all those who received their bill as well.

You don't need to send another AOS package unless you feel you made an error with the initial AOS package you sent before. Have only seen one Vjer having both packages reviewed together. Am still on the look out to see more vjers that will get their packages reviewed together.

Personally I won't send another AOS package.

I would say just send in the IV package alone.

Those new rules don't seem to be in effect yet, and it doesn't look like they apply to people who are already in the middle of their NVC process. More likely the new rules will start applying later in the month when the fees go up, for new NVC filers. So send just IV package.
