Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if I am eligible to use form I-864EZ? Here are the requirements:

(a) I am the petitioner of the family member sponsored on this form -- YES, I am

(b) I am only using my own earned or retirement income -- (I am using my annual salary as my basis for the petition -- would this be a YES?)

© The sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the underlying visa petition -- YES, he is the only person immigrating

Thank you!

Yes your are eligible, but please, please pay close attention to the income section when completeing this form. It was confusing to me and I put the wrong numbers and got a checklist for it.

Yes, as your annual salary is an earned income :P you meet all requirements to use that form.

Make sure you don't leave the "address if different" question blank. Just repeat the same address as before, if your mailing and physical address are the same.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Thank you! I felt silly asking but rather be safe than sorry :) Yes, I have read that a lot of people get checklist for this particular part so I will make sure I do not leave it blank. Thank you!

Thank you! Yes I read that that section causes much trouble. I understood that I need to provide my total income on this section for all three years I am submitting. Is that correct? Also, can you let me know if you left any areas blank, or put N/A or None? Thanks.

I always put N/A im afraid that if I leave it blank they might say I missed something.

So is there any hope for people who are getting approved now (like me) to think that our spouses can join us by Dec/Jan? My first anniversary is in January and I'm praying that I can spend it with him here in US as it would be nearly impossible for me to go visit. :(

I think you're quite right. As long as I see the website, they seem releasing AOS and IV fee invoices at the same time. Not only there is no process between those two invoice payments but also it makes more sense in the new process. It doesn't really matter whether we pay for one or two invoices, but I believe they're keeping separate invoices for their account processing purpose only. The difference would be like;

Old process:

Release AOS fee invoice and DS-261

Release IV fee invoice after DS-261 is reviewed

New process:

Release DS-261

Release AOS and IV fee invoices after DS-261 is reviewed

It'll be so much faster for those that follow the new process and seems unfair for those including myself that AOS documents were reviewed independently even thought IV documents had been already received by that time. Unless they justify that difference by increased fee. You might as well call and challenge a supervisor saying "Mine should've been done by now in the new process. So please review my documents today!"

I would but the evil ones know where I Live. :( I'll have to hide in a safe place. inside-a-washing-machine-smiley-emoticon

I did suggest you to send the IV package too. It's a new trend NVC started to review packages together. Someone got a checklist and NVC told them that an earlier sent IV package will be reviewed along with the checklist they sent later and to count their "60 days" from the receipt of checklist. In Crisarria's case, her AOS was sent on July 14 and IV on August 12 and both got reviewed together.

It's not too late for me to send it as well, because the package has not yet arrived at the parents-in-law's house. The package I sent contains both the AOS and IV. My question is this: how am I meant to send the IV package without a bar-coded cover sheet?

E: Because I haven't paid my bill, it has not been invoiced yet :(
