Oh My G - GUYS - GOOD NEWS FOR ALL OF US!!!

I don't know if this is 100 percent true but I just spoke with Sylvia (supervisor) she said that the new process do affect current packages. Once they get to one of your package, they are also pulling any other package you may have in the system to review them together. It seems to be faster. NOW LETS SEE IF THIS IS TRUE.....THIS WOULD BE AWESOME NEWS FOR ALL OF US!

Also, the date they are going by is whatever date is listed in that 60 day email they received.

IF THIS IS TRUE - OH GOD!!! Praying time....

I wish it's true.. And it makes so much sense. They can deal with one case in one review rather than at three separate times.

I just hope it's true! Did anyone else confirm it?

Fingers Crossed.

Just got off the phone.. No case number yet.. I maybe pushing my luck too much..

I hope the wait for case number will be compensated by a quick AOS and IV bill.

I would like to believe the new process will have the OAS and IV billed together or at least just a few days apart.

Am i dreaming? But it make sense since they want both packages reviewed together.

And i mean, the change should be aimed at making the process faster right?

Otherwise, if the IV bill will take too long as before, then the change in the process doesn't make sense..

Hello all. Been following the site anonmously for a while now. Really helpful and supportive people here. Just wanted to provide an input here, called NVC today was informed DS261 takes 30 days from reciept, AOS takes 60 days and IV Documents takes another 60 days.. this is quite depressing. I thought USCIS was slow but this is just insane. Considering the amount of time, emotional and financial investment we put in this process I had hopes that the NVC process would be a smooth and quick ride. Apparently I was mistaken.

I'm not sure why they just dont open up EP processing for all the countries as it would significantly speed up the process, instead of sending critical documents via snail mail which are prone to get lost.

What does this mean for those of us who have paid AOS but not IV and sent only AOS? :(

I did suggest you to send the IV package too. It's a new trend NVC started to review packages together. Someone got a checklist and NVC told them that an earlier sent IV package will be reviewed along with the checklist they sent later and to count their "60 days" from the receipt of checklist. In Crisarria's case, her AOS was sent on July 14 and IV on August 12 and both got reviewed together.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.

5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."

I think you are right Soloenta! Each step gets better and faster AFTER our case! Grrrrr..... Well, at least people after us will have an easier time. Thank God for that!

Yep, we're the last ones who suffer from the old chaotic process for months. I try to think positive. We had a chance to know about the life in US even before starting. Things won't be and we can't expect the same as in our home country. Other people would just learn the hard lesson later. Once going through this hardship, we can survive almost any nonsense stuff coming in the future, can't we? That's how much ridiculous this visa process has been too, at least to me

;)

So no matter how many pieces we send our packages in. they will be reviewed at the same time, provided they haven't been initially reviewed?

interesting

Thank you for the info and prayers!

I went through all the forms i sent to USCIS and nowhere did i put my email. I suppose we will find out soon if my 261 has been accepted.

My best guess would be here that DS-261 is interrelated with individual record in the system. Once you complete a form, the information may be automatically reflected/updated on your data. Then, they take time to “review” it. I still don’t know what to check about DS-261 though. Do they even need that?

My motto is... never send anything in the mail that couldn't be replaced.

On the other hand, I doubt the embassy would go on with the interview if the case file doesn't arrive in time from NVC. There is still time yet, so I'm not concerned.

I sent in my original marriage record to NVC and it's an irreplaceable booklet as it has the signature of my late father. God forbid NVC misplace it. I was under the impression that an interview is scheduled once the embassy has the case, isn't it so?

No. NVC schedules the interview date first, then they ship the case out to the embassy/consulate.

Haven't seen the timeline of Crisarria you're referring to. Did she get a case complete already? If so, then what someone here said earlier is true that they're reviewing both packets at the same time with the date stated in the 60 day email. Hope so!!!! This is actually awesome?
