Oh yea, I have countless chat records, emails, skype records, and not to say, my call log running into 400pages or more. Mom used to yell at me, I am always on the phone, But after seeing this, I think I never realized it, but its soo true..lol.

Sorry about that, yes we used to send the AOS when the bill came due and paid it then sent them off and waited for the IV to come due and pay it.

The rule they changed is I think after Sept 12-2014 both fees will be payable and you get to send both the AOS and IV in together.

Before you sent them in seperately

Now or after Sept 12 Th you send them in together.

Though what I am just missing now is the police clearance, it better to start applying for it and have the docs ready for submission.

Sorry my friend, but I cannot give you a definite answer. I initiated the question on sending both packages together as this was mentioned in the instructions from the NVC website (see link below) that it should be sent together with highlight on the word ONE..

Seems its better to send them together in my view. But please seek the opinion of the other members too.

I can't believe they are changing this process now! I'm glad for those coming after and it makes A LOT more sense, but sheesh! I wish we could have submitted everything at once!

You get this after you have paid the AOS fee. There's an option to print a barcode sheet and it goes on the top of the packet you'll send. As I recall from your earlier posts, you filled out the DS-261 but the AOS fee hadn't become available yet. You have to wait to send the package until you get the invoice and can pay it.

And Saylin... I guess the wiki will have to be reworked for the new process of paying the fees together and sending the packages together.

Yes, it makes sense to send AOS and IV documents together.

However, you won't be able to send the AOS package while waiting for the IV fee invoice so you'll probably end up waiting longer if you get a checklist for the AOS package.

In other words, you'll wait for up to 60 calender days for the IV fee invoice; then, send your AOS and IV documents and wait for another 60 calender days. If you're lucky, you get a CC in 120 days (4 months) from getting your case number.

If you get a checklist, you'll wait for another 60 calender days (total of 180 days or 6 months). If you get a second checklist, you'll end up waiting for 8 months at the NVC stage. Getting stuck at NVC for 8 months would be a crime!

Edit: I see a sentence: "Please allow 15 days for the NVC to process your DS-261 before continuing to the next step." http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/Step_1_Choose_an_agent.html Maybe you'll receive the IV fee invoice in 15 days from filling out the DS-261? If so, it'll definitely save a lot of time! I had to wait for 40 days for the IV fee invoice.

NVC's Mondays are even slower than their weekends, if you could believe it! At least we get some delayed emails during the weekends.

Their delays are now encroaching on their post-CC processing. Several applicants with CC were not assigned interview dates during the last scheduling round. Even sending cases to Consulates is impacted. I was assigned an interview on August 29th and still my case is stuck at the dispatch room.

The new procedure of submitting documents will make more sense if they can release both AOS and IV bill at same time.

**** I was thinking maybe once NVC gets the case files from USCIS, NVC should automatically choose the petitioner as the agent if the case does not have a lawyer attached to it, because majority of the beneficiary always choose the petitioner as the agent. It will safe a lot of time been wasted and also reduce backloggs**

I would love to see my AOS checklist approved with a scan date of 22nd July. At least that would be one step closer. Oh well, let's see what the week brings.

OK..SO AFTER READING THE RECENT POSTS BY MANY PEOPLE, I AM CONFUSED. IS IT A BETTER IDEA TO SEND THE AOS AND IV PACKAGE TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? WILL PROCESS BE LONGER IF THEY ARE SENT SEPARATELY?

Guys my AOS scan date is 31st July... I did not receive the 60 day review time email from NVC...

Has anyone else with a scan date between 25th to 31st July received the 60 day email? Concerned if I am the only one left out?

Your very welcome and great idea on getting everything ready. It should help if you don't get a checklist and God willing you wont. .
