QUESTIONS GUYS

I just want to beat my brother over the head. He does immigration paperwork and I took his advice but he did not tell me everything. When I was sending the IV package, he told me not to worry about police certificate and I sent it without it. He also meant to tell me to only put one place for his residence since he was born, BUT HE DID NOT TELL ME THAT. Because I put several places where he ACTUALLY lived, he just told me that I am going to get a checklist for the police certificate now.

My IV package was scanned on Aug 11th, if they receive the police certificate in the next two weeks, are they going to review it with the IV package which is not reviewed yet?

I am relatively new to NVC. I received my case numbers from an email they sent. I also received instructions for DS261 and AOS payment through email promptly.

I logged in and filed DS261 and payed the AOS fee. I then received email which had cover sheet for AOS package.

I printed cover sheet and sent out AOS package.

I called them one week later and received the latest info I have from NVC, which is that I should what 30 days from the date thay received the DS261.

If not for Visa Journey I would not even know about the "60 day email" people have received awhile back. Through my correspondence with NVC thus far, 60 days has never been mentioned.

My question is for those that have received this email. At what point in the process was this email received?

Also has anyone that arrived at NVC in the last couple of weeks received this "60 day email"?

Just passed my 4th month mark at the NVC and entering my 5th NVC thread. I never could have imagined how long this process could take even without checklists thus far. Last scans on July 15 and praying for case complete and no checklists. Good luck to everyone this month!

Looking at CEAC

Summary Information

To process your case, you must first pay any required fees. Then, each applicant accompanying the principal applicant to the United States will need to complete the online IV Application (form DS-260). The IV Application may be partially completed and finished later, or may be completed at one time. However, once submitted, please contact the NVC if you need to update the form.

After submitting the DS-260, mail all supporting documentation (as listed on the Documents The Applicant Must Submit web page) for each applicant to the NVC.

Once received, it will take the NVC 2 to 4 weeks to review your case. If any additional information is required after the review, the NVC will notify the applicant (or the applicants agent).

REALLY !!! It will take them 2 to 4 weeks ???

Unfortunately, its taking 2-4 weeks of Mondays at NVC nowadays from start to finish.

This is technically my 3rd month at the NVC, but I've really only done things for the last 2 months. I'm hoping to hear something this month, although my 60 days from AOS received and IV received are in October. But I'm hopeful to hear something!

Good luck to all of us in September!

As a side note, I called NVC last week and although I think I was incredibly nice, the agent was awful. I wanted to ask her for a general status update - review the receive/scan date, give me the "60 days" talk, etc. After she confirmed my biographic information she didn't say anything at all; she just sat on the phone and waited for me to say something. I started to ask a question and she snorted and said, "Um, you need to just wait. I don't have any information for you - we will contact you. You don't need to call." Instead of arguing (I'm afraid they will "lose" an important document if I cause a scene), I just said, "Thanks!" and hung up. Sigh...

I have a question about Form I-864 and sorry if this is dumb but I just want to make sure.......On part 5 question 2 the online form does not let me enter "1" to include myself. Is it ok if after I print the form I put "1" with a pen? or how did you guys enter "1" to count yourself?

I remember reading something about a code that gets printed out at the bottom of every page so NVC scans that and it automatically inputs all the info on the form into their system somehow. I just wanna make sure because I don't want us to get checklisted for something as simple as this.

Thanks!!

More than just using Chrome, I would download the PDF to your computer and use Adobe Reader to fill it out. I had problems with every web-browser I tried in both OSX and Windows.

As you type, the big barcode at the bottom of each page should be making small changes. I didn't notice that happening until I used Adobe Reader (not a web browser). Also, with Adobe Reader there were some other changes I noticed that I didn't see in modifying the PDF on the computer. For example, when choosing the country, some fields in the address section are automatically blanked out so you can't fill them in.

I think the PDF was made for the Adobe format more than other PDF readers. In the end, I just used that even though it was a bit slower than other programs.

Good luck! As a side note, I don't think you'd get a checklist for not having the code, I just imagine that it would be much easier for them to input your information using the code. I think they can still manually type your information in anyway.

I had sent my AOS docs mid August .I just realised that I have put the incomes wrong in the I-864 EZ . My tax reciepts say I filled up form 1040 but I wrote Adjusted Gross Income instead of Total Income. Should I send the whole package again to NVC again with all docs . I dont want to be in a situation that I get a checklist for this in October

Thanks for the help
