I'm glad! We hit 2 months from POE this week, there's still a lot of adjustment going on but life together is incredible. All the ups and downs of the visa process are just a fading memory now, and that is definitely something for everyone here to look forward to :)

Done with the process and been almost two months, still you have not left us, a mini Saylin? Anyway, good phase or bad phase it passes and so will this.

 

 

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?
6/19/2014: USCIS case status change, "On June 19, 2014, we shipped this case..."
7/1/2014: Case received at NVC.
7/14/2014: NVC case number assigned.
8/1/2014: AOS and IV fees invoiced.
8/2/2014: AOS and IV fees paid.
8/5/2014: AOS and IV fees status changed to paid.
8/6/2014: AOS and IV packages mailed, completed and submitted DS-260.
8/7/2014: AOS and IV packages delivered to NVC.
8/8/2014: AOS and IV packages put into the system (scanned).
9/20/2014: Get the 60-day email.
9/30/2014: Case Complete!
10/3/2014: Interview scheduled for November 7.
10/20/2014: Medical appointment.

i guess we made mistake when we filled the DS261 online formmy wife (petitioner )put my name (benificiary) not her nameand in the address she put her adress in the US IS IT WRONG ?

Most people without lawyer always choose the petitioner as their choice of agent and the address will be the U.S address.

Your timeline didn't state the date you submitted your DS-261. If you submitted it today or few days back, I'll recommend you open the DS-261 and have it corrected but after you resubmit it DO NOT TOUCH THE DS-261 AGAIN because if you do, it will reset the date you will receive your IV bill.

It took a month waiting at NVC before we got a case number, but after that things moved very quickly. The disclaimer is that we got CC before the backlog began, packages were being reviewed in 2 weeks back then. Review times started creeping up very soon after. NVC used to be the "good" part of the process, where things happened more quickly and you could be more active in getting things done. It's a different world now :( I hope the increased fees will mean increased staff and an end to this backlog.

Looks like I got caught in the USCIS backlog and now NVC backlog.

i submistted the DS261 on 20th AUG

the adress was US adress but the name was binificary not petitioner

how i will correct the name without resubmitted again ?

Ssastry yes I did EP.

No I did not send IV dics before invoiced. My AOS i sent on July 14 and IV docs after fee paid Aug 12 but they looked at both at same time or at least thats what agent said today and requested the BC not found according to them in civil docs.

Your case is strange, they pulled both your packages and reviewed them together.

Hi everyone,

Im new and I have an question. My iv package was delived to nvc on June 26th, on July 11th, I got a checklist for my aos. Resent aos documents July 22nd. Called nvc today and was told my iv package havent been viewed as yet (71 days) and I have to wait until the 60days from the date of my aos last scan for everything to be viewed. Is this true? Or should my iv package have already been reviewed?

I am probably just dense but I'm trying to figure out how to find average dates between DS-261 submission and IV bill coming up for payment. Those two things are linked, correct? I'm impatient to pay my IV bill so I can start the form and send my personal documents. I know it hasn't been a long time for me but I'm getting increasingly scared that my husband will have to leave Australia without me in February :cry:

According to my spreadsheet, it's an average of 33 calendar days between submitting the DS-261 and the IV bill available to pay.

DS-261 approved! Apparently it was approved on Sept 2 (but they didn't tell me that yesterday when I called). But I still don't have the invoice...

has anyone used a Money Order instead making the bank transfer ?

pros and cons ?

beside the time one lose to get it delivered to nvc any more cons? are they taking their sweet time also to cash it or whatever has to be done with it?

Hello, we're also waiting to pay our IV bill .DS-261 completed since july 9th, we called last week, they said a supervisor would review it, not amswer yet, tomorrow early will call again. OMG

Those of you who have sent IV package please tell me where did you get the police certificate from? police station or passport office? can they accept the police certificate at the interview time? please help

I got it through Passport office. And got 2 Original.. So I sent one with IV package and kept one for Interview
