Thanks DM_G: Was reading a blog about that where people were actually considering leaving the US together and filing abroad due to the expedite with USCIS - I can say 20 days compared to a lot of others out there is actually really fast (crossing fingers for all of you waiting!) - I'm wondering if it also had to do with are length of marriage, kids, etc. in reg. to our situation.

Factors like kids or length of time together unfortunately make no difference. All that goes into getting that auto expedite is filing from abroad. Lots of people on this forum have kids and have been married for years, it's awful seeing families separated.

I won't start a discussion on what should be one way or the next - to be honest we all have our reasons and 'situations' that cause a family to want to go back to the US or reunite there. I would assume moving out of the country for just filing for a GC would be unethical, however not sure about illegal.

Anyways I'm neither - I've been away from the US for 9 years now - my kids and family have been away from their family for quite sometime and we all want speedy processing for everyone.

I believe it sometimes takes 1 or more business days after case complete before the fees change to N/A. It may change for you today or Monday?

It looks like they're still a week away from 7/22 scan dates. I'm at 32 business days and counting. I might call once I see a 7/18 case complete (you know who you are!)

Guys , we just send in our AOS Package on 2 September and we had paid the fee last week and also completed the DS 261.

My Question is "Approximately how many more months should we wait for the Consulate interview ?"

We are just getting frustrated on this . Else can we also file or 129F will that be processed faster than this ?

You are looking for feb interview at the earliest without any checklisys ....I 129f for K3 is a waste...its of no use

Hi!

I just spoke with Abigail from NVC about our IV Fee Invoice.Same answer again 60 days from when you filed your DS261.. She told me they're processing July 14 packages now for AOS.. It's the longest wait ever! Anyway, she's been the nicest agent i've talked to for months of calling so i asked her if we can get the iv fee sooner coz of the increase of IV fee and she's not aware that fees are increasing after Sept 12. Craaazzy! She was surprised that I knew it than her..

I just hope they'll increase their work time too & shorten the processing time after the increase otherwise it won't be worth it..

Is there a need to fill the documents in a particular color Ink ?

AOS (i-864) - Which color

& other forms which i color because i remember reading some thing about black color ink on some thread ?

Once your Ds-261 gets approved, does anyone know how long it takes before the fee is available?

You must send the ORIGINALS (plus a photocopy) of all documents other than the passport, The originals will be returned at your interview.

NOTE: In Australia we call it a "certified copy" if it is a photocopy stamped and signed by an official (police, chemist, etc) Please note that terminology is NOT the same in the USA, they would call that "notorised".

The NVC will only accept a "certified copy" if it is obtained directly from the issuing authority (ie. in Australia the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages).

Hi Guys! I finally got a case complete. Im a bit relieved since ive been here for many months. Last scan date was july 15th, just called an hour ago and spoke to Lee who confirmed my cc. The ceac portal never had my aos fee change from paid to n/a. They may have fixed that now.

I wanted to sincerely extend my regards and best wishes to everyone here and I hope you are reunited with your partners very soon.
