Did I just get case complete?! We can't call NVC right now to check, but just received an email saying this:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

No, you didn't just get a CC... you got it exactly a week ago. When was the last time you called? CC email is usually auto-sent 7 days after actual CC.

It's official. Just called nvc and got case complete. Just squeaked into September! THANK GOODNESS.

Should've asked if you got an interview. They should've started November scheduling already and NVC reps are notorious for not volunteering info if you don't ask specifically for it.

Here is for a double helping of good news for you today.

21-MAR-2014 I-140 + PP sent to USCIS

31-MAR-2014 Petition approved

16-APR-2014 Case shipped to NVC

29-APR-2014 Case received by NVC

23-MAY-2014 Case # assigned

4-JUN-2014 IV Bill invoiced and PAID (AOS Exempt, DS-261 Waived)

6-JUN-2014 DS-260 forms submitted

10-JUN-2014 IV Docs received by NVC

13-JUN-2014 IV Docs matched to case (scanned)

30-JUL-2014 Case Complete, CC email auto-sent one week later

20-AUG-2014 AOS fee changed to N/A (Final clearance for interview scheduling?)

29-AUG-2014 Consular Interview scheduled on Oct 1st. Later rescheduled to Sep 24th. P4 Letter received following business day

14-SEP-2014 CEAC status changed to Ready

15-SEP-2014 Medical results delivered to Embassy by Panel Physician

24-SEP-2014 Consular Interview, went into AP (3rd AP in as many consecutive visa applications)

14-OCT-2014 Visa issued

22-OCT-2014 POE at Dulles Airport, Washington, D.C.

I think many people didn't update their case complete on the spreadsheet, I know of a few...

Definitely true  When I went through the list over the weekend, I had found 30+ people that had case completes and didn't update me. Then there was also a handful of people that had sent packages and such and didn't update. So, I'm sure there's still people on the spreadsheets that haven't updated, and I'm not psychic, so I can only go off on what's on people's timelines, signatures, and posts :P If people don't update/post, then there's no way for me to know :(

Hello VJ Family!

An acquaintance of mine who doesn't have internet has a question I could not answer:

He lives at his parents and has been kicked out.. he can't afford a rent.. does it qualify him for an expedite?

If so, what should he do?

Thank you in advance for helping him

Edit: My initial response assumed your friend is the petitioner. My apologies. You didn't specify so I'll respond for both.

If petitioner: If he can't afford rent, the government will question why he wants to bring another person here to be dependent on him. They won't rush that process along just to end up with a new homeless US resident. Your friend should worry first about having a stable home, not about getting the intending immigrant here ASAP. I'm assuming he either meets income requirements for the AOS or has a joint sponsor who's helping him. If not, that's another big issue to overcome.

If beneficiary: it's possible. He could attest to having literally nowhere else it's possible for him to go and see if NVC has a shred of mercy. The criteria for expedite are the same as at USCIS, so he'd essentially have to demonstrate he's in an emergency situation that poses danger to him. You can call NVC and speak with supervisor to expedite the request or send an email.

Thank for your response. I didn't make my self clear :

He is the beneficiary...living at his parents until he got kicked out.

His wife is the petitioner (US citizen) and meets the income requirements (according to the P. Guidelines) but their case hasn't been reviewed yet.

Can his wife file for an expedite in such situation?

Thanks

Hmmmm Im pretty sure they are doing everything together now.. Either way your AOS at least should be accepted by now, you don't lose anything by calling them and asking.. :)

They are still not reviewing packages together. We have scan dates for both packages only apart by 2 weeks and only the first one (AOS - 7/31) was reviewed. Waiting for them to get to 8/14 for our IV package
