Thank you so much.

I checked our cheklist caredully, and found that they say they require my husband's birth certificate and our certificate only. It didn't mention he didn't make any mistakes on I-864ez form.

So I called NVC again and was told that we dont have to re-send these certification because we already sent them before, not in AOS package.

She said we only need to wait for 60days after IV scan date(8/21)..

I was happy to hear that, but still worried about everything. Since English is not my mother langage, I want my husband to call them later to confirm it.

I am so tired of this process. But I am happy that I am not alone. Thank you so much everybody!

Oh shoot! sorry to hear that.well I am glad you caught it. Well send it all the details and hopefully it will be resolved sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed.

If you wait till they ask then you're doomed. One of the first things you need to do at the Consulate is present a signed statement before the formal interview begins explaining the mistake and admitting the visa denial and explaining the circumstances. I would even send an advanced email copy to the embassy once they receive my case.

If the CO decides you were hiding it on purpose, you'll not only get denied... you might actually receive a ban from re-applying for a number of years.

Thanks MoBar65 for the response!!

I should send the embassy where i am having the interview an email explaining the mistake when NVC dispatches my case to be send?

Who should i give the signed statement before the formal interview?

I know it was a stupid mistake, though i didnt intend to hide anything or be dishonest,i hope we dont get stuck because of the mistake as it was a long journey of one year...

Meanwhile i call the nvc and see if they can correct it...

If you've been denied a US visa in the past, you need to indicate that on the DS-260 by answering "yes" to that question. It's cut and dry; they're not concerned with reasoning behind the decision at that point. Checklists don't seem to be issued for the DS-260, but you absolutely need to be honest about this at the interview and bring any related documentation you may have. The consular officer will know you applied for a visa and didn't get it, so be prepared.

Thanks BOS_LHR for the response!

I didnt intend to be dishonest or hide anything it was a stupid mistake,i hope i can rectify it without having to bear any consequences....

What all documentation should i take about my previous application?

call nvc asp , tell the problem, ask them if they can correct it for you. Dont wait till interview ,cuz no is not correct answer, false statement can ruin all the hard work and suffer u had all this month.

Thanks Azim for the response!

I am going to call the nvc and see what happens..I hope they can rectify it and i dont have to face any consequences for my stupid mistake...

We all make mistakes, so don't worry about it... as long as you proactively do the right thing. As for the interview day, usually you will be called to an initial window manned by a local at the embassy to collect any additional papers and organize them for the CO. That's the one where you want to present your statement, so the CO will see it before he/she interviews you. I guess you could send the statement to NVC, but there is the risk of delaying your case until they review it. Furthermore, I don't believe NVC can legally or physically alter your DS-260 form once you submit it.

Hey Guys,

Lets pray that things move faster with NVC now.

I have a quick question. I had lost my orginal Birth certificate, years back. Now I have applied with the issuing authority for a replacement & I got the replacement. On the replacement , they have mentioned in bold letters DUPLICATE . Will that be an issue while submiting to NVC ?

Thank you! I am still worried, but I checked NVC wiki again and again..

And I could not find that a birth certificate and marriage certificate are needed for I-864ez.

But the operator Nickie said it is written on the instruction that we need to send these documents with I-864ez..

I could not find it on the instruction either.

I do hope we dont have to send these again..

It is ridiculous how many times we need to send our marriage certificate haha..

Oh that is GREAT newS!!! woohoo.. :star::thumbs: i am sure you are still worried. It will be a good thing for your husband to re-confirm. we are ALL tired about this process the only thing that gets me through it is ALCOHOL!!!

You will get done before i willfingers crossed.

I am so very happy for you....but totally bummed about my case. I have not had the same luck with NVC for reason. I haven't even received the welcome email and my AOS fee is locked. Hopefully, NVC will get on it quickly! Congrats on your progress!

NOA2 - Sept 2nd and case still has not been received by NVC. I call at least twice a week... They keep telling me to allow 5 weeks for them to receive the case from Nebraska.
