That's awesome!! They told me the same thing...but they said 20 business days, not calendar. Fyi :)

Oh, thanks, that's good to know. Hey, another question. Were you able to fill out the DS-261 right away after logging in to the CEAC site for the first time? Where did you have to click? My CEAC site has three "tabs" on top but I can't click on any of them, then on the "summary information" page I have two boxes, one for AOS and one for IV. The first line says "Please contact the National Visa Center , if you want to change the Agent/Attorney Name or Address Information on your case."

I'm trying to confirm if I get to skip the DS-261 because I have a lawyer (that's what I heard)... when NVC gave me my case number over the phone, they already had my lawyer's info on file so I assume maybe yes. I suppose I'll find out eventually but oh well. :) Thank you!

I don't know whether to be encouraged by the replies on this forum or more discouraged by the September spreadsheets. If you look at the spreadsheets, this month is by far the lowest number of case completes year to date. I have always been a positive person and able to see the bright side of the cloudest situations, but this process has really worn me down. The information on how the cases are reviewed is so blurred. Are they reviewing everything at once when they get to a scan date or each package by scan date +60days individually?

Keep in mind the info we are following on here is just a fraction of what is actually being worked at NVC. To me it doesn't matter how many CC's there have been but rather the submission dates of the packets when there is a CC.

Yes you skip the DS-261 because you have a lawyer. Your IV and AOS will be invoiced at the same time.

By the way, it's been about a week since I last updated the two spreadsheets, but just spent a couple hours going through the requests and updating, so there's a handful more case completes now for this month :)

This process has me question, whether the man I married ever really did love me. HE SAID - If you get one more checklist, you can go ahead and close the process with NVC. I said, then what's next because when you say that - it seems as if you are saying nothing other than that you don't want me because I am not moving to your area. That's your perception he said - THANKS NVC FOR SLOWLY DESTROYING OUR MARRIAGE!

Oh Dear! I sincerely hope it's just a matter of a really bad stressful moment on your husband's side. Newly weds usually take some time adjusting their dials and sensors when it comes to dealing with bad times as lifelong couples instead of two self-centered individuals. Being apart this long and this early in the marriage can certainly delay this symbiotic process.

Please bring this issue to this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/513879-the-nvc-moral-supportranting-thread/page-94 . I'm sure you'll find more receptive audience there to give you quicker guidance and support.

Also, just something to pay attention to when you're submitting a request:

-If you're on the OLD spreadsheet layout (aka the lighter version with less data points), please fill out the OLD request form and choose 'Update'.

-If you're on the NEW spreadsheet layout (the one with lots and lots of data points), please fill out the NEW request form and choose 'Update'.

If you forget which one you're on, just look at the spreadsheet! Which you should do before submitting a request anyways, to see what has been posted and what you need to post.

I've had a couple people fill out the opposite forms as of late, so thought I'd point it out ;)

Edit to add/clarify: you can of course switch from one to the other, just make sure you choose the 'Add' option and fill the form out up until the point you're at. The above was in reference to people choosing 'Update' on the wrong form.

No problem ^_^

Went through the entire list at the bottom of those without case completes. There were quite a few that hadn't updated as I moved like ~30 people up, so there's even more with September case completes now (along with July and August too, haha).

Alright, my eyes are killing me now from looking at the spreadsheet and such for like three and a half hours :dead: /done for the night

I think he's telling you he just doesn't want to hear about it anymore, not that he doesn't want to be with you.

That was my first thought as well.

Men usually live to SOLVE problems. It is very VERY frustrating for us to hear about something if we cannot take an active part in it's solution. If we can't do something about it, we do our very best to forget about it and pretend it doesn't exist. It's how we cope with the stress.

Women on the other hand tend to cope with stressful situations and unsolved problems by talking about them, thinking about them, and focusing on them. It's their natural way of coping with the stress.

With newlyweds, it just takes some time to learn each others boundaries on that. The man has to learn to grit his teeth, bite his tongue, and listen, just to listen, without any hope of a solution every being presented.

And the woman has to learn how much her hubby can listen to before he reaches saturation. It's a learning process. :)

Personal example: When I'm traveling for a few weeks at a time away from my wife, she needs to hear from me DAILY that I miss her, I'm thinking about her constantly, etc. - that's what she needs, and that's what I give her because I have learned it's what she needs. On the other hand, haha, my reality is, because I miss her and can't wait to see her again, I'm actually NOT thinking about her constantly. I do my best to forget about her during the day unless I actually have time to call her in that moment, since it's a problem i can't solve until my trip ends or i have time for a phone call. I love my wife, and I can't wait to get back to her. It's just the way each of us process the stress differently, and we're always learning more about our spouse :)

You hit the bulls eye :))rightlysaid
